372 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: Into The Void
Location: Sickbay

Councilor R'elle decided to visit H'orri in sickbay to see how she was doing. She walked in and smiled and greeted the medical staff there. "Ahh Lt. H'orri. I wanted to check on you and see how you are doing. " R'elle said.

H'orri awakens and smiles at R'elle.

"Morning, my apologies for earlier. Being raised on earth sometimes my body confuses low states of consciousness with heat. Also I have a minor anxiety disorder."

"Quite alright H'orri. Well as for the anxiety, I can help with that! That's my job!" She smiled at H'orri.

"I am fine now. Was prescribed medicine but well missed a dose then this fake message came in and it was all hands on deck to deal with it. Then Bird of Prey from no where attacks. Let's just say bad day to miss a dose."

R'elle chuckled "Indeed! I am glad you are feeling better now! So you grew up on Earth?"

H'orri smiled. "Yeah, Mom and Dad taught at M I T. So I lived mostly in Boston, well suburbs of Boston."

"Interesting. Are there many caitians in Boston?" R'elle had been to earth to attend the academy and had been to boston a few times but not her favorite city. San Francisco was great though! She loved the city.

"No, unfortunately, although the tigers at the zoo are real comedians and understand Caitian. One of them, I think even had a crush on me. But the Irish descended Bostonians were very welcoming. Bangers and Mash remind me of a dish Grandmother Aki'ki made especially after I put in a bowl of milk."

H'orri smiles reminiscing about childhood helped.

"Do we know how things are going on the Station?"

"I do not know. I'm sure the captain will let us know when she feels the time is right. At any rate, it would seem you are in much better shape. I do have things I must attend to. However, my office is always open if you feel the need. Welcome aboard H'orri."

"Thank you, R'elle. I hope my fermented yak milk is still on station. We can share a cups sometime. "

"I'd like that my friend." with that the councilor left to attend to other duties.
