Physical Description | Ryan is a little below average height and weight for his “age”. Whether he’s fated to be on the short side forever won’t be known for centuries, if not millennia. He has a mop of crimson hair that maintains a generally standoffish relationship with combs. He has expressive, almond shaped eyes that default to a steely, determined look most of the time, but can shift on a dime to reflect his attitude in the moment. Their bright emerald color, coupled with his hair leave no doubt as to his ancestry on Miri’s Planet. He has a compact, wiry build and moves with the casual confidence of an adult rather than the unpracticed awkwardness of other children at his level of physical development. Despite spending centuries eeking out an existence on Miri’s planet, Ryan is still possessed of a coltish energy which can be a boon or curse, depending on the situation. |

Personality & Traits
General Overview | Ryan shares a great many personality traits with Human boys his “age”. He skews egocentric in his worldview, but that has been tempered somewhat by multiple lifetimes of experiences. He can be a bundle of energy in one instant, and crash the next. He knows enough to control what he says but often declines to do so, especially when dealing with adults. He has a flair for sarcasm and snarkiness which, unlike most children, he reserves in large part for “the grups”. Underneath the petulance and precociousness that he shares with everyone else his “age”, there is the shared trauma that he shares with just his fellow Onlies. If one knows what they’re looking for, it’s easy to spot. A sadness in the eyes, momentary blank stares that come with something that triggers the painful memories of being alone for long stretches, and the penchant for distrusting adults by default are a few of the things that set Ryan and his fellow Onlies apart from normal children. But being forced to take care of himself has yielded positive results too. Ryan is confident but rarely reckless. He knows his strengths, weaknesses, and limitations. Being a centuries-long survivor of the apocalypse has given Ryan and the other Onlies a knack for survival, and the ability to navigate perilous situations that one only gains from experience. |

Strengths & Weaknesses | + Calm Under Fire: While not entirely fearless, Ryan isn’t afraid of much. And when things go south, he tends to keep calm and think clearly. - Boredom is a Breeding Ground for Bad Behavior: (BBGBB) When left to his own devices, or unsupervised without something constructive to focus his energy on Ryan, like most kids, will find something to do. Chances are it will be fun. It might be dangerous, or it might be a combination of both. + Innovative and unorthodox: What he lacks in physical prowess, he makes up for in creativity. And whereas adults skew toward doctrine and established methods for anything from problem-solving to combat, Ryan’s tactics are less encumbered by those things, and more situation dependent. - Physical limitations: Given his physiological age, Ryan needs more sleep than an adult. He is also physically weaker than an adult, and more prone to injury. And whereas “in-the-moment thinking“ is good for some challenges. It doesn’t work for all of them. He struggles with considering the long term implication to his decisions and is prone to impulsiveness. |
|
Ambitions | Ryan’s ambitions are to have fun, meet new people, and keep the grups off his back. He doesn’t plan too far ahead, and really isn’t what one might call “career-oriented”. |
