Mission:
Into The Void
Location: USS Lionheart, deep hole in Starfleet Intelligence
It took a little doing as Ull was directed from one department to another, but he was finally connected with someone at Starfleet Intelligence who had the data regarding the Romulans' activity in The Triangle in regards to the Void. The woman appeared to be a human with short cropped orange hair and gray-green eyes, although her skin was very pale, possibly due to a lack of direct sunlight. She was also a junior lieutenant and she seemed very excited to be able to talk to anyone.
"Yes?" she inquired, blinking as if the bright light of the monitor hurt her eyes, "Hello? Um...oh!" she looked abashed, "Commander! Apologies. You..." she picked up a PADD, "...wanted to find out more about the Takakazu Void and any Romulan involvement, yes?"
She glanced up from the PADD to confirm this.
Ull nodded. "Yes, that is exactly what I was looking for. My team and I are currently investigating the Takakazu Void."
"Oh, I see!" the lieutenant nodded, "It must be very exciting, traveling out there in the big, wide galaxy, exploring strange new worlds, seeking out...well...you know," she looked about her dark room and sighed, "It's just me down here...alone..."
She blinked and returned her attention to Ull, "Sorry, sorry. So, Romulan activity in The Triangle, there's a great deal of speculation. There have been several cases of Romulans posing as Vulcans, Romulans and Klingons fighting even during times of there supposedly being a non-aggression pact, which they believe was due to some Klingon house deciding to pick a fight with their 'allies', and...I'm not being very helpful. Right...right..." she picked up a PADD and scrolled through the contents.
"We have no official scientific investigation on the part of the Romulans," the lieutenant said. She smiled, "But! But this part is interesting. There are three missing Romulan ships that were assigned to that part of space. Now you might be thinking the Klingons killed them, but if they had then the Klingons would have sung songs or whatever it is they do to brag about the kills. But no Klingons ever took credit for the missing ships. And they never showed up anywhere else within Starfleet records. It's like they...vanished."
She paused, "Well okay, yeah, Romulan ships do that, but you know what I mean. Sir."
Ull nodded as he pondered what the Lieutenant was saying. "Thank you for that information. It has been very enlightening. Hopefully you are able to get out and explore yourself." Ull smiled at the Lieutenant.
"Oh, right. Yes, of course, sir," the lieutenant said, now sounding a bit sad that the conversation was over, "Well, happy hunting, I guess?"
As she signed out she sighed and looked about the cavernous room where files went to die...
