6,798 words; about a 34 minute read

Mission: Short Treks
Location: Cuyu's Quarters-Holosuite 1
Timeline: After the holodeck outing

Doria sat quiet on a soft pillow and happily watched the moving animation 'cartoons' that Soja found entertaining and educational. Doria used them to teach her proper interactions and social graces as the arithmetic and spelling was already known to the young android. Looking over to Ms Reeza the girl asked softly, "Ma'am? Lieutenant Commander Rayek had stated to potentially speak of this one's creation at a later point. At which point would be most proper for you Ma'am?"

The android girl was as always trying not to be a bother but she wanted to be pleasing by giving data as needed.

Reeza looked up from the work she was reviewing-a particular crewman was having a tough go, as this was his first assignment after boot camp, and he was homesick. She looked at Doria. "As soon as Commander Rayek is ready, I will speak with you all. The Commander and I should talk separately, as well. Maybe while you and Soja are in "school" or when you're with Engineering. Are they treating you ok?" Reeza asked. It did bother her a little that Engineering wanted to prod and poke at Doria, particularly when Reeza couldn't be present, but usually the Commander or Captain were, and she knew they would report any unsavory findings if they came up. Still. It wasn't the same as having your parental figure there, but Reeza had to remind herself that her job was busy and important and that other people were entirely capable of helping Doria. She had to let some things go.

"Why do you ask?"

Doria was unsure how to go about it, "You seem to be of interest in this one and how this one thinks. This one was going to explain during the enjoyable time on the holodeck but this one understood that was for recreational time. So this one simply wanted to answer any questions so that she may be pleasing in this ones actions. If Ma'am wishes this one could wait till later, I..." She stops and shakes her head pawing at the side of her head with her hand. "This one is sorry for breaking protocol. If Ma'am wishes this one could wait till later, this one is happy to wait."

Reeza smiled. She set aside her work. “Soja, please go to the bedroom and look at a book for awhile, please. You may replicate yourself a snack.” She turned to the android. “Now is fine, I just wanted you to have some privacy. You may begin when you wish.”

Doria thought for a moment, "Ma'am wishes to know about the before time if this one is correct? Before this one was made?"

Reeza nodded. "Well, you mentioned it, and I am curious. And I know Commander Rayek was, too. I haven't had a chance to talk to Engineering."

"This one is a Exo-III android, created by the Masters. All Exo-III androids are created by 'spinning' an individual on a table with a null frame. The null gains the memories and autonomy of the one being 'spun'. This one was ninety seven of one hundred units spun from an individual. The individual was chosen do to there young age and thus allowed for the ability to with the image inducers help enter societies to observe and record data for the Masters.", Doria continues.

Reeza sighed. "That's awful. I am sorry." She reached out for the child to give her a hug. "Do you know who the Masters are? The race they are, I mean?" She asked.

Carefully Doria hugged back, "The Masters of Exo-III, or the Exonian's. They prefer to be called the Masters. This one is afraid to say anything but the Masters as this one does not seek to be disciplined."

Reeza shook her head. "We don't discipline people here for using names, and not "master." She recorded the name to pass on to Rayek later; he may know the races she referred to.

"This one's base was unable to be 'spun' more then one hundred times before the base expired on the table. The base was a Cheron child who was acquired by the Masters from The Choraii. This one can still feel the warmth of inside the Choraii where the base was kept. This one can still hear the songs the Choraii sung to this one. This one remembers the pulsing of the Choraii's heart lulling this one to sleep.. The Cheron child was a pet of the Choraii, they abduct large colonies of people to keep inside them and trade amongst one another or to others for resources they cannot farm. Many of the base that made many of this ones sister and brother units were traded from the Choraii. This ones emotions, this ones fears, this ones memories before creation all are from the base. This one cannot remember her name. But maybe after factory reset settles the memories can be more accessed as they are not deleted only jumbled during reset. I hope..." She stopped and shook her head, "This one apologizes for breaking protocol. This one's hopes to remember more."

Reeza shook her head. "Do you remember where you came from before the...Choraii? Do you remember where you were taken from?" Reeza asked. She was going to be very careful in her prodding. She didn't want to cause undue emotional harm or even regression. Maybe she should call Dr. Klarth.

Doria thought for a few moments, "Cheron VI. This one was born..." She shook her head as conditioning protocols took hold, "This one's base was born on Cheron VI before the Branchers attacked. Those that were left alive was scooped up by a Choraii. This one was trapped under debris and it was so dark and made this one scared of the dark. But the Choraii found this one. She sung to this one. She liked this one. But she needed cobalt and beryllium to heal herself. So she traded this one to the Masters. The Masters kept this one safe.. and this one slept. But this one woke on the table and it started spinning. It hurt this one. This one remembers expiring. But this one then woke up as Ninety Seven of One Hundred, this one didn't hurt from the spinning. This one then was taught to obey the Masters. This one is good at obeying Ms Cuyu Reeza."

Reeza nodded. "Yes, you are. YOU are. Not this one. It is OK to refer to yourself as me or I. If you wish to. You are FREE now, and you are safe here." She would just keep repeating that because she didn't know how to make the girl understand otherwise. "Do you know what happened to the adults who were....scooped up?" There certainly HAD to be, right?

"This.. no. I. I.. I do not know what happened to the others Ms Cuyu Reeza. But please remember this happened over half a eon ago? The base would have expired long ago and become dust. While the other androids? They could be around but thi.. I. I do not know what happened to them. But they must be dead by now. Maybe we could go see Cheron one day? Cheron VI was a colony in the system. Cheron is a vibrant planet full of people. Thi.. I. I feel strange saying I. Everything time I say that my programing screams no. I.. want to remain safe. Please forgive me for upsetting you."

Reeza sighed, but nodded. "I do not want you to feel bad or that you're disappointing me, ok? I think it's likely that your programmers made you feel uncomfortable with autonomy ON PURPOSE." She shook her head. "They didn't WANT you to be independent; that's how revolutions and things like that happen."

Doria was in deep contemplation. Her brainwaves, the ones of the Cheron girl fought with her inputted programming. She was unsure which should win or which would win. After a moment she lowered to her knees as she pressed her knees tight together and rested her hands on her lap before looking up to Reeza. "Please teach this one.. Me.. I.. to have autonomy."

Reeza sighed. "I can do my best. Do you want to see if Commander trLhoell would like to join us for this conversation? Or even Dr. Klarth if it's not too late for either one? It's different for the ones who don't have children; they get to sleep!" She remarked. "But it's ok if not. We will clue them in later. The best way, I think, fo you to learn it is to just...practice it. I will also help you by reminding you when you need me to, and also to help you learn social clues." She said.

Doria looked down then back up to the Counselor. "Thank you. I want to learn. It would.. please.. Me. If the Doctor and the Lieutenant Commander would join us. I would like their insight in how to help this one. Me." The concept of changing her speech was likely a long road ahead of her. However she wanted to work and try.

Reeza nodded, and picked up her comms badge; it had long been stripped from her tunic and placed on the table in front of the "couch/bench" area in the family suites. ==/\== Commander tr'Lhoell, would you be interested in joining myself and Ms. Doria in our quarters? For a chat!" ==/\==Dang, that's something you need to word VERY carefully to your superior officer. She tapped it again, and this time sent message to Dr. Klarth. ==/\==Dr. Klarth, if you're available, Ms. Doria requests your presence in her quarters for a...chat, I guess. ==/\== It was TOO weird to do that. She hadn't invited anyone over to her quarters, friendly or otherwise, in a LONG time. It almost felt wrong. "Doria, if they're able to come, please get two chairs set up. I will help you. And turn on the replicator, please." She eased herself up and onto her feet; she had been lounging while Doria talked, looking forward to the weekend she had free.

Doria began by lifting two spare chairs like they were feathers and walking over to place them down. She then hurried herself to begin tidying and cleaning as she hummed an odd musical sound. As she worked she did all she could to make the living area as presentable as Reeza would allow her to. Reeza helped her to arrange the chairs, and then tidy up the few toys that were out, as well as turned on the replicator.

Rayek had stayed late in the office he shared with Commander Arkyn. The Romulan's shift had ended hours ago but after eating a perfunctory meal, Rayek had opted to return to the Security office to do more research on the theory behind the dimensional drive, which he unfortunately was struggling to comprehend. Battle strategy, war tactics and leadership had all been his core courses during his time at the Romulan War College. He'd had little need to delve deep into the sciences beyond knowing how the singularity engines and warp field mechanics worked and he'd done well enough in those classes. But it was quickly becoming apparent that this quantum and dimension physics were definite a weakness for him.

So when Lieutenant Cuyu's offer to visit and chat came through over the comm, Rayek welcomed the interruption. =/\= "I'll be there shortly. tr'Lhoell out." =/\= He answered as he closed down the file he'd been 'reading' and then logged out of the computer. He gave the room a last glance over to be certain he hadn't forgotten anything before heading to the Cuyu quarters.

The Romulan arrived two minutes later. "Jolan'tru, Ms. Cuyu.. Miss Doria." He looked about but didn't see Soja in the main room. "Thank you for the invitation to visit."

Doria tried to move forward but stopped remembering the Lieutenant Commanders rule about asking to hug. She then said looking up to him, "May... I hug Sir? If Sir will allow me to do so? If not I understand and will instead simply say, "Jolan'tru". She did not once say this one but her face seemed troubled saying the words still.

For a moment Rayek stared at Doria in surprise, not so much at the request to hug, he knew where that stemmed from... but rather her use of the pronoun 'I'. He'd never heard her refer to herself as anything other than 'this one'. Rayek looked to Lieutenant Cuyu questioningly, even as he dropped down to one knee.

"Jolan'tru, sir," she replied, hoping that her Bajoran tongue hadn't mangled that too badly. Then she shrugged. "We've been working on the concept of autonomy." Reeza said, by way of explaining. She tapped her foot in nervous energy, but fought the urge to get up and pace around.

He looked back to Doria with a smile and opened his arms in invitation. "Yes, I would welcome a hug from you Doria. Thank you."

Doria moved in and gave him a firm but gentle hug, her cheek resting on his chest as she relaxed and then looked up with a soft smile before her emotions returned to a neutral expression. "I.. am trying. It is hard, but you will likely here 'this one' still. But I am trying. I hope my limitations are within allowances. I.. explained to Ma'am about.. before I was made. And what I was. She felt it best you and the Doctor speak with her."

Rayek returned the hug, grateful that she didn't seem to be avoiding him after the pool incident on the holodeck. He smiled acceptingly when commented on the use of 'this one.' "It's wonderful that you are making that effort, as long as it is what you want." But her words afterwards explaining the invitation, had him regard her quizzically. He was tempted to ask about it them, but thought it best to wait for Klarth, assuming that was the Doctor she was referencing.

R'elle buzzed at the door. She was curious how Reeza was doing and was also curious to meet Doria.

Reeza opened the door to let R'elle in. "Hello! I wasn't expecting to see you, but it makes sense; you must've heard my implores to Dr. Klarth. Please, come in." She stepped to the side. "Doria, more visitors. Counselor R'elle, my supervisor." She smiled.

"Yes indeed Reeza. Hello Doria. Nice to meet you. How are you doing?" R'elle said.

Rayek rose from his kneeling position and offered the counselor a nod in greeting.

Doria looked to the new visitor and turned and fetched another chair carrying it before placing it down with the others. Moving to look up to R'elle she bowed her head, "Greeting Ma'am. This one.. no I am happy to meet you. May I ask a query? Are you a Kzinti or a Vedala? I ask so that I may properly note to act accordingly to your species?"

"Wow! Ok your database is obviously way out of date. I'm a Caitian dear. from the planet Cait. Notice we don't have the hunched backs of the vedala and we aren't warlike like the Kzinti!"

Doria scooted back lowering her head, "This one is sorry. This one was unaware of your species but will work hard to learn to prevent such mistakes. This is the second misidentification of a species having mistook the 'Humans' for Tkonese. Please forgive this one." She was quickly reverting back due to worry of doing wrong.

"No worries Little one. You're just out of date. That's all. Not your fault. Give it time and you will be more informed." R'elle said.

Doria's face shown a level of relief but she looked to the chair and made a motioning with her hand. "Thank you, study is slow.. Please sit, may thi.. may I fetch anything for you?"

Reeza spoke up. "Doria, could you please tell Soja to come out, unless she's asleep." She smiled. Doria seemed to like to help with the younger child. "I had Soja sit in the bedroom with her coloring supplies while Doria and I talked, but she's doing well enough that I think it's fine." Reeza protected her daughter, but there was no reason for her to NOT know that androids exist and how they're made.

Rayek sat down wondering what Cuyu and Doria wanted to share with them, but as Doctor Klarth wasn't available yet, he needed to wait.

Doria bowed and slipped off. A few minutes later returning with Ms Soja gently holding to Doria's hand. Walking carefully she led the small girl to her mother before walking around to kneel on the floor. Kneeling with her knees closed she sat back on her heels before resting her palms down on her knees. "May I be of further service Ma'am?"

Rayek observed Doria kneeling in the subservient position and had to push down his almost immediate urge to tell her to get up, but recognized that it was all just part of her programming and that adapting it could take awhile.

The doorbell rang and it was Dr Klarth at the door. He was in uniform but looked a little disheveled like he'd been woken up and got dressed in a hurry. He saw Rayek and R'elle were already there and that put him at ease. "Hello, sorry I couldn't get here sooner."

Rayek offered a nod of greeting towards the Klingon doctor. "Jolan'tru."

Reeza smiled as she let the doctor in. "It's no problem. I am going to need larger quarters soon! Please, come inside." She stepped aside to let the man inside. "Doria and I decided it might be a good idea to have a full complement of people here as she tells me-us-a bit about her life before she was turned." That sounded like those weird, dumb Earth vampire novels from archaic North America or something that the ladies from the wives' clubs would leave in the lounge. She looked around. "Does anyone want anything to drink?" She offered. "Doria, do you want a chair, honey?"

Doria looks up to Reeza and looks down and then up, "I.. would it be best I do or kneel? I would not wish to assume. I.. this one was programmed that it would be best to kneel unless.. Yes please." She was visibly confused and fighting as hard as she could against conditioned programming but it was not a easy or clear fight.

Rayek appreciated that Reeza offered for Doria to sit and he was almost stunned by the headway Doria was making since just yesterday. To help, Rayek stood and gesture for Doria to take his seat. He in turn, moved to stand a short distance away, positioning himself so he had clear sight lines to the exit and had view of everyone in the room. He got a little antsy when there were more than just couple people in a room.

When Soja came out, R'elle knelt down and spoke to her. "Hi, I'm R'elle. You must be Soja. It's nice to meet you." the 4 year old was such a cutie. So young and already been through so much with the death of her father and new surroundings and new people on a new ship. That was a lot for anybody. More than a 4 year old can take sometimes.

Soja smiled up at the cat woman. "Meow," she said, by way of greeting and then collapsed in a fit of giggles. Reeza sighed. "Soja, please. Sit down!" She was exasperated and it was still an hour until bedtime. "I am so sorry. I think she's had a bit too much sugar today."

Reeza looked to Doria. "Are you ready? Start when you feel like it, honey."

R'elle giggled when Soja said 'Meow!'. "OH relax reeza. She's four. I'm not offended. I think she's a cutie! If she's had too much sugar than well do what we talked about another time." Meaning the ice cream run

Reeza sighed, but nodded. "I am glad you took no offense. Children. They often find the most inopportune times, don't they?" Still, she took the small child into her lap, and settled down, handing her a doll so she could play quietly. Soja was generally well behaved, and Reeza knew she was lucky that the girl had such a serene disposition. "She IS cute, that's for sure." She resembled Reeza's husband more than herself, with blonde hair and brown eyes. They had much more similar personalities, though-she was unflustered about most things, as Reeza was (except the children, clearly).

The Romulan watched young Soja with amusement, wondering how Fvienn would have reacted to meeting R'elle, or the fierce looking Dr. Klarth.

"HI Soja. You look really pretty today! Are you doing ok?" R'elle asked the little one.

Doria looked up to the assembled people and began to recite what she had said earlier almost in its identical entirity do to her android recording,

"This one is a Exo-III android, created by the Masters. All Exo-III androids are created by 'spinning' an individual on a table with a null frame. The null gains the memories and autonomy of the one being 'spun'. This one was ninety seven of one hundred units spun from an individual. But this one then woke up as Ninety Seven of One Hundred, then this one didn't hurt from the spinning. This one then was taught to obey the Masters. This one is good at obeying Ms Cuyu Reeza as well as all other Masters." She then finished and did not seem out of breath despite the long recital.

Rayek listenly closely, but even so much of what she explained meant little or no sense to the Romulan. His people did not know of Cheron or Choraii. He'd heard and researched Exo-III but much of it was classified as part of an Enterprise missing some 100 plus year prior.

"Doria.. what do you mean you are 97 of 100 units." It sounded like she was saying her programming wasn't fully complete. "It that why your memory leak occurred on the asteroid where we found you. Is that why you needed a reset?" Rayek asked.

"No Lieutenant Commander. There were One Hundred units made from the base Cheron girl before her expiration, before I expired. I was the Ninety Seven copy of her. From what little is left, this one had did their programming and went to many worlds to learn of them for the Masters. But on this ones way home to Exo-III the people who were hired to take this one left this one on the asteroid. They gave an automation beacon which would put this one in hibernation as well as monitor this one while trying to get help. But they left this one.. this one does not know why. Was this one bad?" Doria began to get upset as she lowered her head more. "The memory leak was due to a lack of proper maintenance for over half an eon."

At the clarification Rayek nodded his acknowledgement. So Doria wasn't a unique model. She was 97th of 100 androids exactly like her.

Reeza reached out for Doria. "No, you weren't bad, I am sure. I am sure it was a mistake...they surely meant to come back for you." She said. "Do you know how long ago, roughly, it was?" Her basic research had told her it was long before her people were warp capable, but maybe they had at least encountered them in open-air space between Bajor and Cardassia Prime. She should check Cardassian records. She took the child onto the couch next to her. "Do the resets...hurt you in any way?" She didn't know much about robotics or even androids. She looked around at the other adults assembled, her face asking if they had anything to contribute.

"Does that clarification hold a significant meaning to you, sir?" She asked. She wasn't skilled in engineering and the like. Or he could simply just want to know.

The Romulan nodded his agreement with Reeza's statement, that who ever did leave her had intended her to be brought back eventually. That Doria got forgotten and left behind was not an intentional thing. He wondered what knowledge she had gained during her android lifetime? With the reset it was unlikely they would ever know. Rayek saw Reeza's questioning look but was uncertain he could offer any additional comfort to Doria nor was he certain the android could answer any question he did have, so he kept quiet and merely shook his head slightly to acknowledge her look.

Doria nestled to the nice Counselor on the couch pulling her knees in as she rested her head on the woman's lap, "Resets are painful, they hit this one like a seizure would hit a humanoid. They leave this ones mind scrambled and hard to focus. This one only remembers the one on the asteroid. As for how long. The warp vessel was traveling from this one's last assignment the primitive planet Gideon and Exo-III is ninety light years from. This one according to internal chronometer states this one was on the asteroid in hibernation stasis for... processing... processing... processing... half a eon." Doria then leaned her head up and looked to Reeza. "Half.. a eon?" She pulled her knees in against her chest and pushed her face to them, "Half a eon.."

"I see. I'm sorry that happened to you Doria. Half an eon is a very long time. Well you are awake now and among friends. You have a lot to learn but then we all are always learning. I will be happy to help you." R'elle smiled

Having witnessed the reset once already, Rayek could verify that it seemed quite painful. Half an eon. The computer system that had announced Doria to the Away Team the day they picked her up had also said she'd been left behind a half eon ago. The stories at least matched.

"I would recommend that Doria be given limited access at first to an updated species and political database.. catching her up to the current year." the Romulan stated to the group as a whole.

Doria brightened hearing this request, "Thi.. I would love to have limited access. It pleases me to learn. It makes me feel right and good. I just want to learn all I can. I can then help the Masters here? I speak of you all." Her nature to please and follow her programming seemed to show.

Reeza didn't remind her to use first-person language right now. Her mind was still trying to count how many years was in an eon. 100,000, right? Certainly, then, a half an eon was 50,000 years. That's a LONG time. Longer than her people had a history, written OR oral. She'd once read a theory that all the humanoid species were seeded by ancient beings that traveled the Universe, reproducing and spreading their kinds to different planets and galaxies, and it was the differences in those planets and galaxies that explained the differences in the humanoids, but all had a common ancestor a few eons back. She didn't know if she believed that much, but it was interesting to think that Doria might be a part of that experiment in some way.

"I, too, would like access to it, myself, if possible. Maybe someone from Engineering or science could be on standby in case there's stuff we don't understand." She said quietly. If she wanted to take charge of Doria, she needed to know exactly what made her tick, and be responsible for her lessons. She perked up a little. "Maybe while Cuyu Soja is at school, that can be your "lessons" until I can get you enrolled and set up. It shouldn't take more than a week for that to happen." She'd already sent a message to the teacher. That would ALSO give them time to assess what skills she already possessed-could she read and write? Do mathematics? To what level? Was she a savant? So many things to think about.

Rayek was a bit surprised at Reeza's assumption that the knowledge upgrade would be passed on through 'lessons' and not a program install. It was clear that the woman viewed Doria more as a child than an android.

Klarth wasn't sure he understood everything the android had said about her history. "So on what planet were you created? You said you were created to gather information? What were these missions like? Did you go on any missions before you were left on the asteroid? I saw a report that you have a sort of chameleon circuit so you can appear like different species, how does that work? And will your form grow over time or will you always appear to be this age?"

To the room Klarth said "I read a log entries from the USS Enterprise visiting Exo III 200 some years ago. They also encountered androids and evidence of an ancient and long dead civilization. However, the problem is that wasn't even in this universe. For now, we don't know that ancient history went the same way in this universe."

"Good point Klarth. We can't take anything for granted. Things obviously are different here. Hopefully we can make friends and help out where we can and maybe they can help us." R'elle said.

"Master Klarth. This one will begin and answer only what she can. This one was constructed on planet Exo-III the homeworld of the Masters of Exo-III the Exonians. This one was instructed to go to assigned planets and integrate to observe the population so that the Grand Library may be expanded. This one had apparently completed all the missions allowed if this one was being returned to the Masters. That would be at least a thousand worlds. The missions would be to spend time on the worlds observing." Sitting on the couch she shimmers and appears as a Klingon boy of the same 'age' as Doria but with the same red hair. A moment later they shimmer and are a Romulan boy with red hair, next shimmer a Bajoran girl with red hair, then a tabby Caitian kittengirl, finally a small red haired Polynesian human boy. When this ends she shimmers and is a humanoid with two stark skin tones black as night on the left side and chalk white on the right down the middle but with red hair. "This is this one's base form. But this one defaulted as a Tkon. The closest race to the Human?" Thinking a moment, "This one can become any species observed but this one retains their hair. This is not something this one can change, as for ageing? No this one cannot age nor appear to age. This one was designed to remain a child. Has this one clarified everything?"

Reeza looked around the room as Doria changed her forms to mirror those in the room, and then finally settling on her former race. What. The. Fuck? Reeza wasn't one to curse but she couldn't help as the Bajoran equivalent to the F word slipped out. Hopefully no one else in the room spoke Bajoran. "Sorry. Dr. Klarth, your species are one of the oldest. Do you think there maybe some kind of information about the T'kon or Cheron in your databases?" She posed. She just wanted to KNOW. She pulled Soja to her once more, because the child was staring openly at Klarth; she'd not met any Klingons that Reeza knew about. From behind her, on a shelf, came a coloring book and colored pencils, which the girl took happily, and ran to the table. "I will send a subspace message to my former BIL, as well. He's a robotics scientist on the USS Arcadia. I don't know if he'll know anything more or different from Engineering, but it might be worth a shot." She was just word-vomiting by now; it was a habit she had when she was met with otherwise-uncomfortable dips in conversations.

Rayek observed Doria's shifting between forms and noted the same dual-toned appearance she had originally the first time they had encountered her on the asteroid.

"Well, I see one little flaw in that plan Reeza. He's back in our own dimension and we are in this one so i don't think a subspace message will get to him!" R'elle said.

Right. Reeza had forgotten that half the crew were from alternate dimensions. "Right!! I keep forgetting. I really SHOULD write this down, but I suspect as I adjust to this new posting, I will remember on my own in time." She sighed. Just more things to work on, though, she reminded herself.

Klarth was amazed at the android's power of transformation and wondered if the hair not changing was the Master's fail safe, so they would always be sure to know it was an android. He asked Doria "Do you still maintain the memories of your missions?" And to Lt. Cuyu he said, "We shall certainly check every database we can for information about these ancient races."

Doria thought a moment, "No Master, this one had a memory leak due to being in stasis so long. Therefore the beacon that contacted the vessel this one stands on.. viewed this one as needing a diagnostic before awakening. When this one was found to have a memory leak this one was factory reset. Base knowledge of races prominent in the galaxy and regulations, pre creation memories, and functionality. However the stored information from missions and discoveries were lost in factory reset. This one begs forgiveness for not having information. This one can was to be returned to the Masters to transfer the knowledge but for losing the knowledge this one was to be returned to be incinerated while awake. This one begs forgiveness for not having information... would Master like this one to initiate discipline program?"

"No discipline is needed. You have been very helpful telling us so much about yourself and your history," said Klarth.

The fact that Doria had returned to using the 'this one' appellation for herself was an indication to the Romulan that she was not comfortable with the situation. Her inability to answer the questions put to her, he recognized must be troubling for her. He was glad that Klarth answered her the way he had. It was reassuring.

The problem of obtaining information across dimensions was a huge issue. Rayek could suggest checking for information on this dimensions' version of the Cheron but how helpful that would be now was questionable. "Her origins may not matter as long as the Engineering staff know how to maintain her systems."

Reeza sighed, but nodded. "I fear you're correct, Commander. I will drop it now." If that man knew how difficult a task that would be for her, he'd recommend her for a medal of some sort; not just the "mother" instinct that she had, but more-she had always hungered for knowledge, learning new things as often as she could. But if it meant emotional distress for Doria, she could abstain. She turned her head to look at the girl.

"Do you have anything else you'd like to share with us? Do you want to ask us anything?" Reeza asked. She felt that they may be getting close to the end of their story hour here.

Doria looked up to Reeza and seemed tired. How a android could be is not understandable but the look on her face expressed a exhaustion. "No Ma'am.. this one is just... overstimulated and feels a strain on the servos of her shoulders. They keep feeling heavy tonight. Self repair systems should resolve. But this one will continue to answer questions if Ma'am desires?"

Hearing that Doria was not at 100%, Rayek stood upright from his wall-leaning pose. "We should head out then and let you rest and self-repair. We can always talk to you another time with our questions." He looked to the others pointedly before turning back to Doria. "You did really well tonight - answering what you could."

Reeza nodded. "Yes, Commander trLhoell is right. You did well, thank you. It's time to rest, and actually, past bedtime for Cuyu Soja. Can you take her with you to go get ready?" She asked.

Doria smiled so very brightly as Rayek when praised for a good job. Her face lit up in visible joy and then nods to Ms Reeza and curtsies to the group before leading Cuyu Soja, "Please follow this one Mistress Soja, it is time for standby.. for sleepy time." They headed to the bedrooms.

Rayek smiled slightly as he watched Doria head off with Soja.

With the children out of the room, the adults could talk more freely. "Anyone have anything else?" Reeza asked. She was tired herself.

"No, I think we've discussed enough for now." Rayek asserted. "I'll report to the Captain regarding what Doria shared tonight, and cc you on it."

"Good night you three. See you tomorrow." with that R'elle left to go back to her own quarters. It had been an interesting day. She had met three new friends and one was a new counselor, well new to the ship anyway. Reeza was very nice and a good counselor by all accounts.

The Romulan then turned to R'elle as she said her goodbyes. "Jolan'tru counselor."

"Jolan'tru Rayek!"

"Thank you for including me in these proceedings. It has been very interesting indeed," said Klarth as he was leaving.

Then Rayek bid farewell to Klarth before assisting Reeza with the 'clean up' of her quarters, returning the chairs Doria had moved, back to their proper spot. Only once everything was set to rights did Rayek say his own goodbyes to Ms Cuyu. "You seem tired. I apologize if I am overstepping but if you need assistance with not just Doria but with Soja as well, please do not hesitate to call on me. I would welcome an evening with them if you need 'an evening out' to see to your own well-being." He offered a slight bow. "Jolan'tru, Miss Reeza."

Reeza smiled at the Commander. "Thank you, sir. I may just take you up on that. I appreciate your help today, all day. I hope it wasn't too taxing for you." She paused as he exited. "Jolan'tru," She replied, with a small wave before she went to go check on the children.
