Mission: Into The Void
Location: Cargo Bay
Timeline: After Preparation for Departure. DAY 9

CARGO BAY

Ensign Manamea Toelau knew this was a serious matter for two reasons. One, the cargo bay was full of crewmen and young officers and two, Assistant Chief Operations Officer Cathcart had come out of his office to address them personally. He and Assistant Chief Engineering Officer Vallick were explaining the mission to everyone in a highly animated fashion. Toelau had never known Operations and Engineering to work so closely, but she had also never heard of components aging more rapidly then others.

"You will break up into groups of two and you will systematically open and examine every panel on this ship," said Vallick.

Many of the men sighed at the thought of all that work.

"You think we don't know how much work this is and how tedious it will be?" said Cathcart. "But you know what happens if there is even one of these rapidly decayed wires in a vital system. The ship blows up!" Cathcart paused for dramatic effect and then added. "So I don't know about you, but I'll take a little boredom over death."

"You heard the man," said Vallick. "You all have your orders now get going."

The cargo bay suddenly got very loud and everyone started to pair up. Toelau hadn't really thought about who she work with and looked around for anyone she knew. The first familiar face she saw was Lt. T'Sarn. Toelau got over to her and asked "T'Sarn do you want to work together?"

T'Sarn had given Lieutenant Commander Cathcart her full attention during the elderly man's address of the assembled crew. While she understood full well the necessity of the undertaking being required of them, she found the notion of pairing up - much less with non-engineers) to do the work was unnecessary and would only extend how long it would take to complete. Worse yet, the pairing of work partners not been assigned, so presently the cargo bay was like a social experiment to see who ranked where in status. Her only experience of this phenomenon had been in the Academy.

Initially, she had been one of the first individuals picked to partner with, but after she had logically rebuffed the advances of a few of her fellow classmates, her hierarchy in the class dropped until she was one of the last to find a partner. Having to deal with that same scenario here at her place of work was unwelcome.

Her thoughts on the subject were paused as Ensign Toelau queried her. T'Sarn recognized that the woman had misspoken her query.

"No, I do not; I would much rather work alone. However, as our orders stipulate to work in teams of two, I will acknowledge your misspoken query as an offer to work together."

Toelau reflected that Vulcans always had a way of making you feel like they were doing you a favor by acknowledging you, but she wasn't going to let the Vulcan ruin her good mood. So she just smiled and said "Great!"

Together they headed to the Assistant Operations Chief to receive their section assignment. The pair were assigned to check all transporters.

Sam Rutherford was late, but he had a good reason. He had to pee! He rushed into the cargo bay and was met with absolute CHAOS. He looked around, but followed the crowd towards the AOC to receive orders. On his way, he grabbed another body-it was protocol to work in teams of two or more. He preferred more-one on one interactions were rough.

Eager young Crewman Evati Zh'thiathek, was late for a less biological reason... She got lost. Coming in the absolute madness and chaos was rough on the young Andorian Zhen, she would reach forward to ask a question to understand what was going on but no one would stop. The cybernetics attached to her antenna helped mitigate some of the problems as the glimmering smock she was authorized to wear over her uniform got a few odd looks from other engineers and more then a couple glares from fellow Andorians. Suddenly she felt the hand on her shoulder of a crewman randomly picking someone. Spinning around she saluted and her face not anywhere looking toward the individual as she was saluting next to the person, "Crewman Evati Zh'thiathek at your service Sir."

Sam nodded. "Nice to meet you, Miss...Evati." He wasn't going to attempt her last name; he was SURE to bungle that up. He looked around, and spoke aloud. "Chief, sir, what needs to be done?"

The two were directed to check turbolift 5a. Insure the wiring is not going to fry and do a quick diagnostic. Evati turned to her partner and smiled brightly, "Yay! Turbolift duty! We can go up and down and down and up! Skipping along she turned and looked in the wrong direction. "Come on! Lets get going!" The Andorian girl seemed too bouncy and eager.

Sam chuckled. "Yeah, we can!! That will be fun." He then went serious. "I don't think we're supposed to do that, though." He let Evati led him to Turbolift 5a, which, if he remembered right, was on the Habitation deck. They arrived in a short time, using OTHER turbo lifts to get there. Once they found the correct lift, he got to work. "Can you hold this, when I take it off?" He pointed to the panel, behind which the wiring for the computer should be. They'd do the floor one next.

"Will do!", Evati said as she held the panel. "We'll have to do the floor panels from the inside so we will have to call the lift. Can't believe the outside panels of the turbolift is so bad?"

Sam shrugged. "You never know!" It was Starfleet, after all. He ran the tricorder around the panel. The wires in there were fine. He replaced the panel, and then looked at Evati. "Let's move on."

As the panels got placed back in, Evati reached up and hit the call button. "Hope no ones gonna be in here, they would need to wait a few while we work if they do!", she smiled brightly.

"I hope so, too," Sam said.

TRANSPORTER ROOM 1

T'Sarn greeted the Transporter operator, who was standing in readiness to have his unit checked over, with a brief glance and nod. The Vulcan hybrid then moved to transporter pad while pointing Toelau to the console. T'Sarn removed the floor panels and began a detailed scan of the circuitry. What she discovered was quite alarming. "These circuit boxes all have the same age discrepancy as what was seen with the Flight control console. They need to be replaced immediately."

Toelau began to open panels on the transporter console and found that it didn't seem to be effected by this age problem. "The console appears to be clear so we can focus on the pads," she said

"I recommend we contact the bridge to shut down all transporters except in Medical emergencies until these circuit can be replaced."

"Absolutely," Toelau couldn't help but wonder what might have happened if someone had used the transporter while it as in this state. Their atoms might have ended up scattered over half this system.

Toelau tapped her combadge and said "Toelau to Bridge. I'm on the repair team in Transporter Room 1 and we have found anomalies in transporter pad. The parts will have to be replaced before we can use it and we recommend not using any other transporters until they're checked as well. "

TURBOLIFT 5a (Deck Five)

Ringing the turbolift, the door opened to an Andorian male. Scooting in and waving along to Rutherford she smiled up at the Andorian. "Hey Sir!", she smiled. "A simple check and diagnostic, won't take three minutes!"

Crewman Thrissenshon ch'Oqysron, or simply Shon as he was known to others, made a grimace at the sight of the other Andorian. His antennae leaned back, almost against his head.

"Is this really necessary now? It's shift change. Surely, there is a better time and place for this? Just let me out here." He waited a moment, and when it seemed like his request wasn't going to be answered, Shon reached out and slapped his hand hard against the turbolift controls in the vicinity of the STOP button.

Evati said in almost slow motion holding out her hand, "Noooooo!" The controls sparked and the door sealed as well as stopped.

"Well then.... we have time to work!", she smiled looking the other Andorian in the torso.

Sam put a hand on his hip. "It won't take but a few moments, Crewman," he said, with emphasis on the "crewman", to illustrate that his rank mattered in that moment more than the other man's wanting to go home. "See, now you've managed to stop the Turbolift for EVERYONE." He sighed deeply.

Shon pulled back his hand at the zhen's drawn out exclamation and reach towards him. It was fortunate he did as it saved his hand from being singed by the sparks that erupted from the panel moments later.

Roozh! Now he was stuck in the lift with the abomination (he barely registered the other officer at all). His antennae lifted slightly testing the air towards, before dropping back against his head in clear indication (for those that knew the tells of Andorian antennae position) of how upset he was. No way was he just going to stand here waiting for the doors to open.

Shon tapped his comm "ch'Oqysron to Transporter Room. Turbolift 5a has a broken door and I'm trapped inside the turbolift can you lock onto my com badge and drop me off on Deck 15." Shon was scheduled to work the Secondary Armory and his shift was about to start.

TRANSPORTER ROOM 1

After having gotten permission from Bridge to shut down all transporters, what came next was the repair. Except it wasn't as simple as it seemed. With the shutdown of the transporters and the turbolift system, engineering personnel were slowed at receiving the items they needed for their repairs such as replacement wire and isolinear chips. The only thing that could have made this worse was if the replicators had also been affected by the aging... but thankfully that was not the case.

Looking over to Toelau, T'Sarn gave the other woman a list of items to be replaced. "Eighteen meters of optic cable - cut into 3 meter lengths. Six isolinear chips and an insertion tool."

Toelau got to work replicating the supplies. T'Sarn was automatically taking over and truth be told Toelau thought that was probably for the best as she hadn't done these kinds of repairs since her academy days. But she was glad she paid attention so at least she understood how to help.

While Toelau was off getting the supplies she'd need, T'Sarn began taking things apart. It was during this that the call for a site-to-site beam out from a stuck turbolift came in. The transporter operator looked to her to see if it was possible. "Absolutely not." she answered his unspoken question and then got up from her repair to respond to the call herself.

TURBOLIFT 5a (Deck Five)

The response from the transporter room was a bit delayed, and it was junior Lieutenant T'Sarn who answered. "Use of the Transporters is presently unavailable. Repairs however are underway. I would suggest you alter your route to the nearest Jefferies tube if your destination is mission critical; otherwise, remain where you are and the Transporter Chief will get to you when it is safe to do so. T'Sarn out."

This time his expletive was a bit more audible, muttered under his breath. "Roozh"

Rutherford watched the interaction with a little bit of joy, but questions, too. He, though, was far too polite to ask about them now. He'd ask Evati later, when the other Andorian was gone. "Miss Evati, I can go inside the wall if you'd like. We're going to have to repair from within, I believe." He had already dialed up his PADD to have replacement wires beamed to their location. "You should sit down," he said to ch'Oqysron. "It might take as long as a half hour."

The PADD would state no transporter access at this time. Meanwhile Evati would smiled as her orange eyeballs glimmered. Unlike the male her antenna, with the cybernetic enhancements did not have the mobility but she used them to spot a major issue. "Panel 36 is showing signs of temperature increase it might be good to fix that before anything more happens." She then turned to Shon, "Sir may I see your hand? I would hope you are not injured." She reached forward touching his hand in an attempt to inspect it.

A half-hour!? The Andorian security crewman's antennae shot up in surprise then drooped. When the zhen reached for his hand, Shon quickly pulled it away. "Don't touch me!" he snapped. Then noticing the look from the human, Shon dialed back his revulsion and continued on in an almost civil tone. "It's fine. Just do your job and leave me be."

He moved to other side of the turbolift and tapped his comm badge, choosing to remain standing rather than sit. Over the open comm he informed his supervisor that he would be delayed getting to his assigned station.

"You're acting like a baby!" Evati said putting her hands to her hips as she stared straight into the man's torso. "The way you're acting I expect you to climb into my pouch at any moment. Now please I can see some light elevated temperature on your hand. Will you let me see it so I stop worrying so much?" Her face was full of concern as her solid orange eyes twinkled like her smock.

Shon's head shot up to glare at her, his antennae flattened back against his white hair in a display of anger at the zhen's insult. His thoughts churned with spiteful comments in return - most centering about how if that were the case he would likely be the only 'baby' she'd ever carry - but the presence of the Human in the lift kept him from speaking such thoughts.

Instead, the Andorian Security crewman purposely moved his hand farther from her, moving it out of her 'sight' behind him. "Why don't you focus on the one role you CAN do, rather than playing at being a doctor. I'll see a medic AFTER you fix the damn lift."

Rutherford cleared his throat loudly. "Please...I need to work. Miss Evati," he said, a sharp tone to his voice, "Please let him be for the moment." If he died, he died, Sam cared not. "You are correct; the temperature seems to be quite amiss. Let's see what I-we-can do from here." He had no interest in what he had gleaned was either a sexist or cultural argument between the two Andorians. "Have you a scanner?"

Evati smiled happily and fished around in her bag offering out a scanner but her eyes widened as her cybernetic antenna faced toward the panel. Pushing Rutherford out of the way the small Andorian woman took the brunt of the exploding panel sending her flying back into the turbolift door before slowly sliding down leaving a bit of blue blood on the door. Crumpling down she laid half conscious as she let out a pained sound. The normally sparkling smock she wore luckily took a lot of the impact and seemed dull and unworking. She wasn't dead but she needed care and the transporters were still down. With the briefest of lucidity she had left she pointed to her carry all bag, "medical kit.."

At the emergency situation, Starfleet security training took over and Shon moved to the injured girl's side as he tried to assess the extend of her injuries. When she indicated she had a medical kit, Shon went to retrieve it. "Lie still while I check you over."

Rutherford heard the explosion and Evati flying backwards before he realized what was happening. He yelled into his comms badge ==/\==I NEED MEDICAL TO MY LOCATION STAT ==/\== He was sure that the security officer was fine at triage but he didn't know the extent of Evati's injuries yet.

"YOU!" He said to Shon the Andorian. "Work on her while I try to get this opened up!!" If nothing else, he could beam them out of there if he had to. He got to work, ripping apart the wall in the lift, unplugging and cutting wires as he did so.

Shon's mood wasn't the best at having been put in this situation and having to actually apply First Aid to the other Andorian, so when the officer snapped at him to do exactly what he was already in the process of doing, Shon had enough. "Yeah, what do you think I'm already doing?" he muttered, his antenna flicking in annoyance as he ran the medical scanner over taking note of it readings.

Evati with her sensor web fried reached out feeling about with a pained hurt look her orange eyes blinking, "I.. think I'm blind." She continued to feel about trying to find comfort from the pain not realizing it was Shon she was touching.

Sam stopped what he was doing. "BLIND?? Like...BLIND BLIND??" Shoot. He tapped at his comms again. ==/\==Can I get a rush on the medical team?? I've got a man down here!!==/\== He sighed. "Shall I beam you to Medical?" It might work.

"Dr. Klarth here." He sounded out of breath like he was running "I'm on my way, but I'm still a few decks away. It is slow going as we can't use the transporter or the turbo lifts."

==/\==Thank you, Doctor, understood.==/\== Sam reported back, and then went back to his task. If he could get it wired in the next couple of minutes, he could AUTOMATICALLY force the door open with a crowbar. Maybe.

The officer's almost panic was grating. "Relax already. She was blind to begin with." His tone a little more judging than he probably had right to be given he was addressing a ranking officer. "The shock probably knocked out her suit and sensors."

"Okay, you've got minor retinal burns on your eyes from the flash. Minor burns on your arms, but it seems your smock took the brunt of the explosion. The most worrisome thing is the laceration to your head where you struck the door and you've got a concussion."

Sam just shrugged. "How am I supposed to know that??" He asked. He bent down. "Hey, Evati!! If you can hear me, I am going to take a couple of wires from your kit. I'll replace them!" He helped himself to one yellow wire, and one blue. "If it's a concussion, you need to keep her conscious. Ask her questions! Stuff she knows!!"

Hearing the pinkskin shout at the blind girl, had Shon shaking his head slight in bafflement as to how the guy passed the Academy.

Evati whimpered as she closed her eyes trying to get the pain to settle, "Don't... worry Sir. Take what you need. My.. pouch is ever bountiful of wonders." She seemed to be getting confused and trying to drift to sleep.

Shon rolled his eyes at the officer's unwelcome advice, but figured he'd best follow it. Just in case.

"Okay.. um. Here's a question. What is the stardate today?" He asked, then frowned a bit as the girl seemed to try to drift off. The security crewman pinched her shoulder at a known pressure point to stir her to wakefulness. "No going to sleep. Answer me!" His tone was demanding. "What stardate is it today?"

Evati yelped softly at the pinch and stirred.

Evati slowly stirred having trouble focusing, ".123137." Evati then whimpered, "Don't hate me, Daddy.. Let me inside.. It's cold outside." She was started shivering and chattering her teeth.

Shon's antenna swayed and leaned towards Evati in concern at her nonsensical responses. He pulled out a dermal regenerator but knew enough that 'dermal' meant skin... and not brain tissue. He tapped him comm =/\= "Doctor, what is the proper setting on a regenerator for brain tissue. The patient has a concussion and she is not making sense in her responses and she's very lethargic, I'm having trouble keeping her awake." =/\= as he said this he applied another pinch as pain stimulus to rouse her again.

=/\= "What setting do I need to use it for healing the bruise ?" =/\=

"Setting 2 can be used to heal bruises, but I'm afraid there isn't a setting to regnerate brain tissue," replied Klarth. "Just try to keep talking to her and keep her awake until I can get there"

The doctor's medical advice was not what the Andorian security crewman had been hoping for. He set the regenerator back into the medkit and looked to the small girl. In the back of his mind his cultural upbringing had him wondering what her parents had been thinking. Surely they knew early enough in the pregnancy that the fetus wasn't forming properly. Yes, children were prized in a society that struggled with it's birthrate but birthing one with an obvious defect, who would be ostracized throughout her life... was that really the best option they had?

Evati squealed kicking her feet and thrashing her hands weakly from the latest pinch, "Don't hurt me Daddy, I'll make you proud.. blind or not.." She shivered confused and reaching to her pouch on her side feeling and pulling something sharp out, appearing to be an old cloth wrapped Ushaan-tor.

Hearing Evati, Shon didn't want to know what sort of tragedy this girl lived because of her disability. Such thoughts would only cause him to doubt a cultural upbringing that had stood the test of time. His antennae swiveled alertly when in her delirium she pulled out her Andorian blade. Roozh!

In a swift and decisive move, he attempted to disarmed her, his Security training - and her weakened state - giving him the advantage "You'll get that back later. Now is not the time for that." The weapon got tucked into his belt for later.

Sam was watching, his task nearly forgotten. "What is she saying? DO YOU NEED ME TO BEAM YOU TO MEDICAL?" What would Shon not answer him?? He sighed deeply, tiredly, but went back to re-securing the panel. A final scan with the tricorder said that that problem was solved.

The Andorian security crewman was realizing this was far more serious than the medical scanner seemed to indicate. And it didn't help that the engineer kept panicking. "She's confused because of the concussion. Don't worry about her. I've got it under control." Hardly but he needed the man to stop panicking and get the lift doors open at a minimum.

When the officer repeated his question about beaming Evati to Sickbay he wanted to shake the man and ask 'Have you NOT been paying attention?' Instead he patiently explained. "The transporters are down or they would have beamed her out already. Besides which, the doctor is already on his way here. We stay put - just get those damn doors, and if you can, fix it so that we have ride down to the Medical level once the doc's had an opportunity to check her over." Shon hoped his assertiveness training would come in handy with de-escalating the officer's panic. If not he might just get written up for talking back to a ranking officer.

Evati tried to fight as the blade was taken but couldn't, she was too weak. Her blindness was disorienting as she had gotten so used to her smock having worn it since she was taken away by a Vulcan missionary shortly after her expulsion. She could not see, but she could hear, she could feel, she could smell, but her mind was jumbled. However a slight bit of lucidity came threw, "I.. normally.. would make jokes.. but hurts.. jokes and optimism... hide the pain of being.. an... abomin..nation. Why.. can't.. I think of.. a joke.." She then leaned forward semi limply the wound on the back of her head bleeding blue staining her white hair.

Rutherford momentarily considered reminding the man who was calling the shots-HIM, who could keep them there longer if he wanted to-but thought better of it. He shook his head. "You can still beam out of here with the antimatter device," he said. It wasn't exactly PROVEN to work that way, but what could go wrong? The lights came back online fully. "I think we're getting close." He saw Evati move. "Don't let her move! Are you trying to kill her? What kind of medicine do you learn in your training, anyway??" He asked. He was just an engineer, but even *HE* knew that if there was the possibility of a head or neck injury, one should not be UPRIGHT. "Evati, please, remain lying down, ok?? I am working as fast as I can," he said, gently.

Shon looked to the engineer as the man berated him for allowing Evati to move What the Hell?! He'd already scanned her and ruled out a spinal injury. "Do you wanna take over here and I'll repair the turbolift?" he mockingly asked. "What do you want me to do? Pin her down while she has a concussion?"

Sam shrugged. "Yes, I do. What if she has a spinal injury that your dumb tricorder is missing? It isn't a MEDICAL one, after all." Finally, he found the stupid errant yellow wire he'd been looking for in Evati's jumbled mess. Quickly, he attached yellow to yellow, red to red, and black to black, securing it all with tape for now, and tapped the door open button. The computer system wasn't online yet but this *should* override that. Luckily, the door creaked open just enough to let a single person in and out. That would do...for Klarth to check out Evati, and move her to the hallway if it was safe to. Once she was in the safety of Medical, he could go INTO the Jefferies tubes and figure out some more stuff.

"Actually it is." Shon grumbled, more to himself than the officer "It's the scanner from the medkit she carried with her." But to keep the officer from complaining more Shon took hold of one of Evati's hands and lay a knee across her forearm to hold it in place while he then brought her other hand down at her side. By leaning his weight across her chest he effectively pinned her - as requested. The girl wasn't going anywhere now. But it probably didn't look too good.

Evati whimpered laying pinned down as she said with the lucidity leaving, "Stop fighting Daddy". She looked to Shon before turning her head toward Sam, "You stop fighting too Mommy. I'll go out and.. let the snow or bandits.. handle me. Just stop fighting.. please?" She looked pleading as tears rolled down her cheeks.

The Andorian's delirious comments were eye-opening for the Sec/Tac crewman to hear. It gave him an unpleasant glimpse at his culture's cruelty. What a stranger must think when hearing comments like that Shon didn't want to know. Maybe the officer would think it was all just crazy-talk? He could hope.

Evati stopped fighting, her grip loosened and she didn't struggle. She was alive and all but she didn't fight, "I won't fight Mr Bandit... Just don't be... so rough please? I promise.... to be extra..." She wiggled as she felt his pinning weight then she felt cold again shivering under him.

At her meekly suggestive words and worse yet, wiggle, Shon's antenna lay flat against his head and he scrambled to release her. Oh roozh no! No way was he getting caught in any sort of harassment mix up!

Sam worked while waiting for Dr. Klarth, listening. "What is she talking about?" He asked, quietly. Finally, a red wire was found, and attached, and a spark went off as they connected. The Turbolift doors hummed open. Good sign. They weren't out of the woods JUST yet, though. "We have power. Kind of." He said, to no one in particular.

"You don't wanna know." Shon muttered back at the man's quiet question. His antenna flicked up hopefully when the doors open. So where was the doctor?

Evati passed out completely, laying there, still breathing but shallowly. She needed the doctor now.

Sam pressed a few more buttons, running the Engineering tricorder over the panels. Finally, the door opened fully but the lights went out. He sighed deeply. "Well, one is better than the other, I guess." Shoot.

Roozhroozhroozh Roozh! It was the sec/tac crewman's turn to feel the spur of panic when Evati passed out and wouldn't rouse even when pinched. He ran the medical scanner over her and was relieved somewhat that her she still had a pulse though her breathing was far too shallow to be very effective. He tried to recall what the procedure was for low oxygen. Usually Sec/Tac First Aid meant dealing with phaser or disruptor burns... not concussions or shallow breathing.

Was she going into shock? Dammit he should have taken steps to prevent that. He removed his jacket and laid it gently over Evati's legs and then propped her feet up on her bag that had held the med-kit earlier. Elevated the legs.. Keep warm and comfortable.. what else did one do to prevent shock?

=/\= "ch'Oqysron to Dr. Klarth. Can I get an ETA? The patient has fallen unconscious and won't rouse even with pain stimulus. Her breathing is shallow and ineffective. What can I do to treat for that?" =/\=

As if as an answer Dr. Klarth ran in somewhat out of breath "I'm here now" he said. He began examining the unconscious crewman and gave her a hypospray to reduce the effects of the concussion.

Shon hurriedly backed away to give the doctor room in the limited space of the turbolift. He was so glad the doctor was there now!

Slowly the crewman began to stir before rolling on there side and throwing up blue on the Doctor's boots. Laying there she whispered, "I do hope.. I didn't say anything odd. My head hurts.. and I think I'm still blind." She tried to giggle.

The sec/tac officer felt relief as the girl gained consciousness. The vomit wasn't so pleasant but it wasn't like he had to clean it. Nope, he called on the janitorial staff. =/\= "Computer, Clean up in turbolift 5a." =/\=

Sam let out a sigh of relief as Dr. Klarth took over. "Thank goodness!!" He said, when he saw the older Klingon. "I finally got localized power. Are the other lifts still out?" The Klingon nodded his confirmation. Shoot. "Ok, well, since the door is open, I can beam you back to Medical whenever you're ready. Don't worry, Evati, I can handle it alone!!" He said, reassuringly. He tapped his comms badge.

==/\==Rutherford to Toeleau. We have power in Turbolift 5a. Moving on to 5b as soon as the medical emergency is less...emergent.==/\== He clicked off, ready to move on. It smelled in here, but he managed to hold it together. "I hope you feel better soon, Evati. Shon, you are free to go."

Shon looked to the Klingon first, confirming that the Doctor didn't need assistance. But if given the all clear, the Andorian wouldn't waste any time getting out of there. Or at least that's what he thought.

Klarth said to the Andorian patient. "You're a little banged up, but we'll have you back to work soon. Can't have you slacking off, right?" he said playfully.

Shon didn't think his 'injury' needed any treatment at all but he wasn't about to talk back to an officer so merely nodded.

TRANSPORTER ROOM 1

After responding to the Turbolift call, she returned to her task of removing the aged wiring and isolinear chips from each of the transporter pads.

It was slow and meticulous work and Toelau wished she had the logical mind of a Vulcan that probably didn't mind the tedium.

It took nearly 15 minutes to get all the wiring and chips in each of the pads redone. When T'Sarn finished she looked to Toelau. "Power it up and let's test it."

"Aye, aye sir" said Toelau. "There is nothing quite as satisfying as a job well done" she said right before pushing the button to test the transporter.

"I quite agree." T'Sarn answered as the test material (which mimicked most humanoid DNA) was transported from one pad to another to another until all 7 pad had been checked and tested multiple times with no errors.

Only after that did she call the Bridge to inform them that they had access to one working transporter. Then gathering up her tools she and her partner headed to the next Transporter room.

TURBOLIFT 5a (Deck Five)

Sam got a message back that the main panels were back online. He turned to Klarth. "Dr. Klarth, sir, the transporters and turbolifts are back online; if you need a beam to Medical, let me know as soon as she is stable!" He said. He turned to Shon. "You may return to your assigned worksite." He said.

The sec/tac crewman understood he was being given the opportunity to leave - and common sense said he should take it, but Evati had started out in his care, and until the doctor said he didn't need the additional pair of hands, Shon wasn't moving.

Klarth saw a look of concern on the other Andorian. He could tell treating her had been traumatic for him. He looked at him and said. "You should come with us. The patient could use some company and those injuries on your hand should be looked at anyway." then he looked at Sam and said "Thank you please beam all three of us to sickbay."
