Mission:
Into The Void
Location: Sickbay

The patients were transported to sickbay and Klarth worked on them both personally.
The Gorn was still unconscious but would no doubt recover and Horri had been in and out of consciousness but her condition seemed to be stabilized.
Counselor R'elle had taken an interest in her fellow Caitian and was on hand to offer her insights.
"What do you remember about your mission? What were you doing out there in that shuttle?" asked Klarth.
H'orri awakens and tries to sit up and then falls back. "We were answering a distress call, from this ship. Got attacked by Klingons. "
"What ship had issued a distress call?" asked Klarth.
"Again, This ship, The Lionheart." H'orri says obviously not used to having to repeat herself.
Klarth and R'elle exchange a look at this surprise.
"I'm sorry it's just that the Lionheart wasn't in distress and never sent a signal....Let's start at the beginning as it's easier to deliver a killing blow if you deliver some flesh wounds first....Your name is H'orri, you are a lieutenant junior grade at the Gabriel Station. What's your position there?
"Currently, I am temporarily assigned to sciences at Gabriel Station. When Gabriel Station received, what I am sure now was a lie, a Federation distress signal from the Lionheart. My full name is H'orri of the Red Fur, as you are who of what house, Doctor?" H'orri says now a little indignant but still not insubordinate.
"H'orri there is no reason to be upset. I am not questioning you out of suspicion, but because there are many mysteries and too few answers and I feel you might have more answers than you are aware of...Was anything strange going on at the station? Or did it seem pretty normal? Any suspicious visitors to the station? Have their been any strange pranks on the station recently? You are a science officer, were you working on anything concerning the void? And/or the vessel that had emerged from it?"
H'orri closes her eyes and takes deep breathes till she purrs. A very common therapeutic practice amongst cathar with depression and anxiety.
"You are right. First, no suspicious visitors or other strangeness on station at least I could tell in the less then a week there. The attack happened to quick for me a science officer even sitting at a station on the runabout."
"Lt. H'orri of the red fur. I am R'elle of Clan M'ress. Welcome to the Lionheart! Dr. Klarth is correct." M'ress was one of the most prestigious of clans. There was a long history of service to Starfleet and was held in very high regard on Cait.. "We certainly never issued a distress call. It seems somebody was laying a trap for us. Why is unknown as yet. Please be at ease. You are as much a victim as we are. Could you retrace your steps some please? You came aboard the station a week ago, is that correct? you were assigned to the Lionheart as comms officer, is that also correct?" she wasn't trying to interrogate her fellow caitian just trying to ascertain the facts as best she could.
H'orri smiles at R'elle. "I have not been assigned to the Lionheart, yet. My division is science. Let me try again. While I was on a shift at the science station in the control room of the station, a distress call came in identitied as being from the Lionheart. No, before you tell me again that you didn't send one, I repeat that I believe this was a Deception that it was from the Lionheart. The comm officer definitely verified it was the Lionheart. Concerned as I was cause I want a science post on the Lionheart, I demanded to be apart of one of the runabout teams to check out the distress sign."
H'orri closes her eyes and tries to breath but her breath becomes shallow. Heart rate starts to rise.
"We headed out and very quickly out of almost nowhere. A Klingon Bird of Prey declared and attacked us."
"Interesting. Somehow a distress signal was faked and made to seem as if it was from the Lionheart! Undoubtedly the Klingons were involved. This seriously concerns me. However my primary responsibility is you H'orri. How are you feeling? You went through some trauma so I want to see how you are emotionally." R'elle said.
"I will be fine. I just need my medicine. Should be in my file. I am mostly just having an anxiety attack. Probably due to the Trauma."
H'orri tries her breathing technique again and visibly calms.
"How many runabouts were sent out?" asked Klarth. "Do you know what happened to any of the other ships?"
H'orri looks over their uniforms and instantly tells they are medical.
"First things first, Doctor, why don't you check my files and get me my medicine? Second, preferably while you are doing the first thing, three runabouts and I only saw one Klingon Bird of Prey."
"I did look at your chart," Klarth injects H'orri with a hypo filled with her anti-anxiety medicine. "There you go, I know you've been through a lot, and we'll let you get some rest very soon but, do you know what happened to the other runabouts? Is there a chance they are still out there?"
H'orri is much calmer.
"I think I remember them calling for help around the same time we were attacked. I am not sure exactly what happened to them. Probably the same as my runabout."
"Thank you Lieutenant, please try to get some sleep. Do you think you need a mild sedative?" Klarth asked H'orri.
After talking to H'orri. Klarth went back to his office with R'elle where he says, "She is lucky to be alive, I fear the crews of the other runabouts did not have the same luck."
"I fear you are right Klarth. Thank K'tal she is safe." R'elle said.
Klarth touched his combadge and said "Captain, one of the crew we rescued from that runabout was able to share some information. The runabouts left the station because the station received a faked distress call from the Lionheart. And Captain they sent two other runabouts. Has there been any sign of them? Or, I hate to say it, were there signs of their debris?"
There was a pause, then Hadenbeer replied, "No, there has been no sign of debris, but considering the size of a runabout compared to the volume of space itself that comes as no surprise. Please inform them that once we have ascertained Gabriel Station's condition we will make every effort to find out what happened to the other two runabouts."
"Thank you Captain." said Klarth. Then he went to go tell H'orri what the Captain had said. But part of him hoped she was already asleep.
H'orri is awake when he returns. She listens to what he said and then falls asleep.
"So, someone laid a trap for us. This can not stand, If I know the captain, she will get to the bottom of it! There was no need for a massacre like this!"
"Indeed she will and the rest of the crew will be there to help her with anything she needs." said Klarth.
