Mission: Into The Void

SICKBAY

Reeza arrived finally in the Sickbay. "Commander Klarth, what do you need me to do? Is Commander Risa ok?" She asked, taking a Tricorder that a medic handed her. Her basic medical training was essentially triage.

R'elle was by her finacee's side. "It's ok Sandy! I'm here!"

In a moment, Reeza's head spun, and after a blink to clear her mind, she opened her eyes...to an empty sickbay, save for Lt. R'Elle and the still-unconscious Commander Risa. She looked at R'Elle. "Where did everyone GO?" With a sigh, she stepped forward. "Our training isn't great, but...I'll do what I can." She felt chilly all of the sudden, but spoke again. "Computer, activate the EMH," she said. But the EMH didn't appear. Instead, a robot on wheels, like from the very old Earth cartoon called The Jetsons appeared. "Administer two milligrams of the general Adrenaline hypospray, and then attach a neural regenerator machine," the robot said, in a strange, tinny voice. Reeza was too far gone to question, she just moved. "R'Elle. Find a whatever regenerator that was. I'll get the hypospray. We can talk about it after this!" She said. Her boss was a bigger mess than she was, but oddly, she seemed to know that she needed to do this one thing to make the others reappear. A quick sprint around the Medical Bay and she had collected a second tricorder, the hyposprays, and even a medical kit. She returned to the Commander's side, and administered the medication, as advised, with the roller-hologram-thing still watching nearby. "I've been watching you, child. You will do fine if you ever change careers." The robot disappeared, and much to Reeza's relief, Dr. Klarth, the ACMO and the rest reappeared, and the EMH switched on. She let out a sigh of relief.

"I um...gave her a shot of adrenaline and attached the neural regenerator," Reeza said. "I need to go send a subspace relay to my mother after this-I need more help with the girls than I thought..." She said, to no one. "We're not that far from Bajor..." . She watched the room spin again, but fought through it a moment. She wasn't making sense. Her head hurt, too, and all she could think of was her mother. Why?? She never thought of her mother THIS regularly.
Weird.

What Sandy was reliving was the training mission on the Bulwark where she saw three of her trainee's die in a surprise attack by rogue Cardassians extremists. Because she is a Betazoid, she could hear the screams in her mind and feel the fear and lose of their lives as they were snuffed out.

Screaming suddenly in sickbay, as she suddenly came to in the sickbay of the Bulwark, "No.....No....bank hard right you have fighters in your six's, hurry!" Sandy yelled. Watching the fighters loose phaser fire, Paul, Margaret, and Michael's training fighters explode. At first she did not allow the emotions or screams in her head to affect her fighting skills as she guided her trainees through the fight and back to the ship where she did finally collapse on the deck. Not realizing she was on the Lionheart she screamed for Dr. Hanson to help her control what she was going through. "Hanson, please... (pained screams) please make it st....op....plea...se! It's too mu......ch. no....! She grabbed her head in pain as it felt like a white hot spear going through her temples. Laying back down, Sandy was screaming and crying as she held her head and writhed in pain.

Klarth didn't flinch at the sudden screaming. He'd been a Klingon doctor, after all, and already knew what Risa was experiencing. Picking up and programming one of the prepared hyposprays, he injected the Commander with it, hitting her with a mix of pain relievers and mild psychotropics to calm the flashbacks spinning her brain.

After setting the hypospray aside, Klarth took a firm yet gentle hold of Risa's hand, speaking in a gentle tone, "You're safe, Commander, on the Lionheart, with me, Doctor Klarth, and Reeza and R'Elle. There is no danger, Sandy. You are safe."

R'elle sat by Sandy's side. "Please come back to me Sandy! Please Imzadi! It's ok honey!" R'elle was too preoccupied by her concern for sandy that she barely noticed anything else going on

With a wild eyed look, Sandy was about to lash out at R'elle, something stopped her. Not sure if it was the voice or the person attached but she put her arm down slowly. Weakly, "R'elle????" The wildness now gone from her eyes, she slumped into the arm of R'elle crying. "I... don't...want to...loose you...ever. Let's get ma....rried now here in sickbay please."

"If that's what you want darling of course we can! Besides, I don't want to take any chances. R'elle to Captain Wilson, could you come to sickbay please? We need you to marry us!"

"I.iii um sure. I think I can do that! I'll be right down!"

"There you are my love! Soon we will be married! Our lives will be joined forever!"

"Oh my gosh!" Reeza couldn't help but gush. "That's so sweet!! HOLD ON! I'll be right back. EMH, you have the floor," she shouted, as she left the sickbay. Unauthorized return to her office to use the replicator was probably not the best idea but she'd let the chips fall where they might. From her desk, she fished out some old things-the little headpiece she'd worn at her own wedding, and some flowers from the vase she'd "borrowed" from the botany lab. Soja had found the headpiece in a closet when they'd packed up to move, and Reeza had failed to take it to her quarters because of everything going on. She'd meant to put it in a shadow box or something, but she hadn't had the time. She looked at herself in the compact mirror she kept in her desk-she was a bit disheveled, but then, she always looked a little frazzled. She returned quickly next door, and held up the items. "Here, I brought this, and flowers," she said. "Who wants what?" She said. She resumed her work at the computers, desperately trying to make heads or tails of the mess in Sickbay. She looked up. "R'Elle, permission to administer hypospray to the person in biobed three?" She asked. She might break a couple of protocols in the name of love, but she wouldn't otherwise.

"Of course. You have my full permission! Meanwhile, if we're going to get married I need to get my wedding gown on." R'elle said. "Don't go away, I'll be right back!" with that r'elle rushed to her quarters to put on her wedding dress that she had readied for her wedding. The gown was sheer and a bit see through. It was foam green and came to just below her knees at the bottom and barely covers her bosom at top. There was no veil but a wreath of green and white flowers adorned the wreath on her head. She looked at herself in the mirror. Yes perfect! This was her mothers dress whens he married R'elle's father She looked pretty good in it! She hoped Sandy liked it.

About 20 minutes later she returned to sick bay ready to be married. "Well here I am Imzadi! Hope you like my dress. It was my mothers."

Meanwhile the captain had arrived in Sickbay. When r'elle came in "Well are you both ready?" she asked the pair.

"I am, Captain!" R'elle said.

"As am I, Captain. Just have to replicate the rings and uniform", Sandy said getting up gingerly and walking to the replicator in Sickbay and replicating the necessary items. Once she had changed quickly, she was ready. Taking R'elle’s hand, she looked lovingly into R'elle's eyes, "I am ready to take you into my life as my Imzadi for eternity" Sandy said.

Reeza looked around. Oh, guess she was standing up as a witness! OK. She looked down at her own uniform-disheveled but at least it was clean. Self consciously, she ran a hand through her hair. "Oh, ok, I guess I am ready, too," she said. "I'll just...go over here," she said, stepping towards the door. "Let me uh...get Dr. Harrison, too," she said. "Do you need me to witness?" Crap, she was rambling again. She needed to get ahold of herself.

As if on cue, the Surgeon appeared. "It's ok, Miss Cuyu. I have it handled out here," Dr. Harrison replied. "Stay here."

Reeza nodded, but stood near the door. It was still awkward.

"Yes that will be fine. You may be the witness Lt. Alright, let's get started. So not up on Betzed or Caitian ceremonies so I'll go with what I know. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to join these two ladies in holy matrimony. It is said that Love conquers all. I feel love is the greatest blessing people can give one another. R'elle, Sandy you have chosen to give yourself to one another, to join your lives together for the rest of your life. This is a serious step and not to be taken lightly. Do you Sandy give yourself to R'elle, to have and to hold, to love, honor and cherish, for better or for worse, until death do you part?"

"Yes till death takes me, this I promise and swear by", Sandy said, beaming even though it was a serious commitment she was undertaking.

R'elle nodded "With K'tal as my witness, I take sandy as my mate. My wife, for eternity. I will love her and cherish her. Our lives are one going forth! No matter what may come, let us face it together. we are imzadi"

"Well then as captain of the lionheart by the power vested in me by Starfleet, I pronounce you married! The brides may kiss!

Sandy embraced R'elle tightly and gave her a passionate kiss right before R'elle could kiss her.

R'elle embraced Sandy and kissed her.

Yet as they both embraced, you could feel the love and happiness just flow through the room.

Looking at her Imzadi, it was almost as if her mind suddenly began to realize that an outside force was driving the crew mad. "R'elle, I need to be on the bridge. There is a force or presence that is driving this madness. We need to get out of this void before it becomes permanent and whoever or whatever is driving us to the point of destruction" Sandy said.

"I.." R'elle wasn't sure how to respond. They had just been married and already Sandy wanted to get back to the bridge. But she was a starfleet officer and sacrifices had to be made. "You owe me a honeymoon woman!" R'elle said. "And the doc has to clear you first!"

Looking at her new wife, "A honeymoon you will have and it will be grand full of love and passion but not Risa. Somewhere else in mind have I. Somewhere special, somewhere in nature and beauty. Now I must be back to work as you also must. We are Starfleet officers and our jobs come first before marriage," Sandy said.

Looking away to the doctor, "I need to be cleared for duty. If anything, I will report back here immediately. There is something in the void that is guiding us somewhere. Another presence and it is causing all this madness. We need to leave the void but I believe that a neuro blocker for those that are more susceptible to its wishes," Sandy said.

R'elle nodded. "Ok, I trust your judgement".

"Yes R'elle, I would hope that is true now and forever", Sandy said as she began to get up from the bio bed.

Dr Harrison looked at the Captain. “It’s not really a good idea,” he said. Still, he sighed. “If the tricorder doesn’t pick up anything, you’re free to go, BUT you will come back immediately after we’re safe.” He scanned the woman, and then nodded. “Go.” He said. “Lt. R’Elle. I expect her back IMMEDIATELY. Understood?” He rubbed his face but went back to his tasks.

"Not up to me doc. She's her own person! She is my wife. not my pet! I'll keep an eye on her though!"

Reeza was trying to focus on the Captain's words, but her mind was on her own wedding. How she missed Luca!! She should show the children some pictures! Reeza smiled, though.

"Eka'ha shekuu*" Reeza said (*May you have many blessings).

"Thanks hon! Appreciate it!"

"Thank you, Reeza. It is much appreciated"" Sandy said.

Now all she needed was the clearance and she would do her job and speak with the captain as to her thoughts.

BRIDGE

When R'elle's call to the Captain initially came in requesting the Captain to marry them at that moment in Sickbay, the Romulan had been fairly certain that the Orion Captain was responsible enough to put the welfare of the ship first since whatever was happening - the oddities and changes to the ship landscape was occurring all over ship. But Rayek was dumbfounded to hear the Captain actually agree. When he opened his mouth to object that now was not an appropriate time for such activities, especially as it would take both the Captain and First Officer off the Bridge. But when he attempted to object... he discovered that he suddenly had no voice and his limbs would not response to his will. For nearly 20 minutes he was held in stationary captivity on the Bridge while the Captain made arrangements to head to Sickbay.

He wanted to warn her that the moment she stepped off the Bridge she could very well find herself lost in some foreign place rather than Sickbay... but he was mute and immobile. It was disturbing to realize how little attention anyone paid to him, as no one on the bridge seemed aware of immobility or muteness.

It was only as the turbolift doors close behind the departing Captain that Rayek regained ability to move. It was obvious to the Romulan that some outside force had prevented him from intervening. Was it the Vedala again, or something other? Either answer was troubling.

Rayek looked at the few remaining personnel on the Bridge - himself and the flight officer Brandy - and realized that he had the conn, since he was the most senior at the present time. He did a quick check of the logs and in reviewing discovered that the ship had encountered a spatial anomaly. Well that was a possible explanation!

"Lt Davies what was our location when the ship encountered the anomaly? Are we still within the vicinity? Have we attempted to break free of the phenomenon?" To the Romulan, it would be common sense to do so, but nothing in the logs seem to indicate that order being given.

"I have tried but every time I get the ship halfway through, it comes back in my face, I can't figure it out. It's like the damn thing has an intelligence of its own", Brandy said frustrated.

Rayek frowned as he considered this new information. He also got the impression that there was a definite intelligence to what was going on. "Continue trying - on different vectors." It was a long shot but better than simply accepting that this was their new reality.

"Elle," Rayek called out to the ship's AI, "Are your sensors able to pick up anything within this anomaly? Are we the only vessel in here?" he asked. While he waited for the AI's reply, he looked over towards the vacant Science console for a moment wistfully recalling when he used to ask similar questions of a certain red-headed Trill. It never ceased to amaze him how she would always to be able to provide solutions to even the most oddest of situations - which this certainly qualified as.

Rayek gave his head a shake. This was not the time to be reminiscing.

Elle popped up. "Haarrd to tell! Distortion.. messing up my systems. Ship changing, reconfiguring. Can't detect any other ships right now, wait yes i can..no it's gone. Not sure if it's sensorr malfunctioning or the void interfering. Please bear with me! Trying to get things together! Anomaly appears to not register on sensors. Like it's not there."

The Romulan frowned at the lack of information.

Back in the Sickbay, Reeza wasn't feeling well again. Her thoughts were coming in Bajoran, and her words were jumbled. She just knew it was time to GO. But go...where?! She didn't know.

She made her way to the Bridge.

"Captain Lockley??" She called out. On her first posting, he had been her Captain. She found Rayek. "Commander!! When did you get transferred here?" She said. "Let me get the Quartermaster for you. He's very nice," she said. "Lt. Turner," she said. "That's his name." She smiled. "Where's Captain Lockley? Has his baby come??"

The Romulan looked to Reeza perplexed. He had memorized the names of all ship officers. Lockley was not a name among them-especially not as a Captain. Nor was Lt. Turner.

She blinked once. Something deep in her head knew that this line of questioning wasn't right, but she was unable to make sense of it all. "Well? Are you coming?" She asked him.

Rayek hesitated, uncertain how to respond to her, or where she wanted him to go. Should he point out the inaccurate names? Before he could decide on a best approach the matter was resolved by an outside source.

Elle popped up, "Sorry, no Lockley here Reeza. You're on Lionheart!"

Reeza closed her eyes, hard. She opened them again. Indeed, she was on the Lionheart. “Thank you, Elle,” said.

"You're welcome!" Elle returned

Brandy's fists came down hard on her console. "This is maddening! I can't get a clear vector. 360 degrees up down either way, it keeps coming back to the same coordinates. What if this void is a ruse, like we are being made to not see an exit or the truth that nothing is holding the ship in one place? What if this void is a tunnel to a different part of space? Maybe to where this entity wants us to arrive at", she said frustrated.

Reeza also looked to the Commander. “How close are we to the Bajoran wormhole?” Reeza asked. Brandy might be onto something!

While the current situation was frustrating and seemed hopeless, in all honesty, this wasn't the first time Rayek was aboard a ship that was stuck in some anomalous phenomenon. It was however a first for all the inane oddities.

Reeza's question had Rayek contemplating. "As we aren't in normal space currently that is difficult to assess. At the time just prior to our arrival in this 'dimensional pocket' for lack of a better term, the ship was on route from the Void to this universe's Earth. By any star chart familiar to me, the worm hole would be over two sectors at our closest passing." There was a momentarily pause as Rayek took into account a detail he had been previously ignored. "However, as this is an entirely unfamiliar universe... perhaps the phenomenon that we refer to as the Bajoran Wormhole could actually open anywhere else."

The Romulan looked to the vacant Science station, wondering if he called for a science team member would any respond?

Reeza looked at the empty console. "I can try it," she said, taking a seat, and pressing some buttons. Psychology and medicine are science-adjacent, right?! "Well. Maybe we should explore that that is what is going on." She looked at the view screen and shook her head. "No, I can't make hide nor hair of this," she said. "However, I am vaguely aware that a wormhole is simply a distortion of time and space, right?! Is it possible that some kind of disruption could...undo it? Such as...I don't know. Using the Tractor Beam to send light through it or something? Light is energy, after all." Torpedoes, even

Brandy furiously checked and triple checked and looked up suddenly. "I don't understand my readings. I have triple checked and according to this, the Bajoran wormhole is like three sectors away from us. I just don't know how that is possible unless this void is somehow connected or in close proximity to it. Yet how can that be?", Brandy said.

Rayek was silent a long time, recalling how, in his universe and future timeline, a powerful enemy had managed to collapse the wormhole entrance on the Gamma Quadrant side. It was while attempting to repair that damage, using technology acquired from Lionheart's dimension-drive when the ship was stuck in his universe's recent past, that had gotten Rayek stuck here on Lionheart. The amount of energy used to accomplish that feat had drained an entire solar system.

"While it is possible; the amount of energy needed is beyond what is currently available to us." The Romulan stated slowly. "You could deplete the entire ship's storehouse of photon and quantum torpedoes and it is conceivable that it would not have even the slightest effect on the wormhole entrance."

Reeza nodded. "I see. That definitely won't work, then," she said, with a sigh. "Well. I am out of ideas," she said.

"Should I set a course for the area of where the Bajoran wormhole is supposed to be? A little help here please. I don't like guessing games," Sandy said looking at Reeza and Rayek with a puzzled face.

Rayek furrowed his eyebrows as he considered their options. Doing so made the V-ridge on his forehead stand out noticeably. If they headed towards where the worm hole was there was the potential of possibly escaping this every fluctuating dimension. Also, being the location where he had 'crossed over' into the Lionhearts's original reality, it was possible that if he could repeat his experiment - there was a chance that he could make it back to where he belonged. The temptation was definitely there to alter directions. However, that was not where the ship had been under orders to travel to initially.

"Negative, Lieutenant." Rayek eventually answered. "Assuming we can escape this bubble... and if you are able to, maintain course for Earth. Our orders are to meet up with this dimension's Star Fleet."

Reeza shrugged. "If you say so, Commander," she said. She was an intelligent woman, but she was only a counselor. She had no training outside of the few leadership courses she'd taken at the Academy.

"Understood sir," Brandy said. Returning to her controls, she wondered why if they were going to eventually go back to their own reality, why not do it sooner than later?

---------------------------------
MEDICAL BAY

Back in the medical bay, the usually unflappable Dr. Roger Harrison was panicking. He wasn't a man prone to panic. He wasn't a man prone to MUCH, really. But the scene in front of him had changed-he was now in an old-fashioned Earth-style operating room. What would Lucy do? Lucy would just go with it. "Nurse, get me 15 CCs of the neurotransmitter type Hypospray," he called out. The nurse looked at him, chocolate-skinned face staring. Dr., What on EARTH is a hypospray? Roger shrugged. "I don't know but please, hurry, Campbell. We don't have time for twenty questions!!"

A moment later, his head was back in the game. "Campbell, thank you. I apologize for my earlier outbursts. Steady she goes. Let's get the Captain cleared and out of here," he said, moving into the other room. "Alright, Captain, lets you get back on the Bridge," he said, checking the Biobed readings.

"Congratulations you two. Alas duty calls." with that she headed back to the bridge.

---------------------------------
Cuyu Family Quarters

Doria was feeling odd due to the change her body has gone through. While her Android form had many notions of similarities to humanity she was still far from. But the nature of this latest reality changing things about was causing a variety of chaotic changes that she could not understand. Luckily for her the 'toaster' had gone away once she changed again but now her chest was moving up and down in contracting motions? Her stabilizing units were sore? She had a tactile stimulation in a spot on her side that once she brushed with her hand it faded?

Then it happened. Her automatic repair circuits were not functional? Walking over to press the comm badge left for her she did not wish to bother Mommy Cuyo so she contacted Rayek. "Master Rayek, this is unit Doria. I am in Mistress Cuyu's quarters and my auto repair circuits have been massively affected by the reality of this universe. I have sprung a coolant leak in my lower chassis. Request assistance please."

From his place on the Bridge, Rayek was surprised that his comm suddenly worked - it had been hit and miss for the past hour it seemed.
He still wondered at its randomness. Was there a pattern or an intelligence to it? Something behind this all. The paranoid Romulan was suspicious of the call, but ignoring it was not something he was willing to do. He tapped his comm badge to answer.

=/\= "I'll have an engineer sent to the Lieutenant's quarters immediately. Wait there." =/\= He chose to have engineering sent rather than checking on her himself because at present he was the only Command level officer on the Bridge during a ship's crisis. He couldn't leave his post.

He double tapped to open another comm, inwardly hoping it worked. =/\="Bridge to Engineering. The Doria unit has been affected by the changes in this reality and is need of repair. Send someone to Lieutenant Cuyo's quarters as soon as possible." =/\=

The Romulan waited for a response.

"This is Engineering," Qillin answered the call. There was a tone of exhaustion in his voice that he could not disguise. After being tied to a talking tree, several other strange phenomena had plagued Engineering. He and the remaining team of Engineers were currently busy snapping every isolinear chip back into its berth. It had been a relief in one regard that no one from the bridge called him until this point. "Everyone is occupied in ship repairs at this time... we need to focus on exiting the void you entered before anything else goes wrong. Can you just turn the android off for the time being and we can look at it later?"

"Is that Doria or Cuyu Soja? I can go," Reeza said. She closed her eyes. Now was NOT the time, kids.

Rayek's expression soured at the rather accusatory wording the Engineer used when addressing him. HE hadn't been on the Bridge when this all started so it was not HIS fault. For a moment Rayek was tempted to be a bit punitive and insist on Qillin's attendance to repair Doria, but the man was correct in one thing. The ship came first. "I'll find someone else to check on her. tr'Lhoell out."

Qillin shook his head as the communications channel shut down and checked to make sure that everyone was actually working. Fifteen minutes, at best estimate, they'd have engines working again.

He cut the comm abruptly still frowning, then looked to Reeza at her offer, sitting at the Operations station. His frown smoothed out.

"As a medical counselor there is not much you can hope to assist with. No. Remain here. I'll call on someone else."

Reeza just nodded. "Alright, Commander, thank you," she said. She was still nervous about leaving one of the children alone, but he was right-she was more useful here, trying to figure out what in the name of the Prophets was HAPPENING.

Mentally reviewing the ship's roster, Rayek attempted another comm call. Hoping this one would go through as well.

"Bridge to T'Prith. Doria is reporting a malfunction. Engineering is busy. Can you check in on her and if necessary get her to Engineering?"

Cuyu Quarters

T’Prith was tasked with checking up on the android Doria. She left her personal quarters and went down to the Cuyu family quarters. She figured the bridge would be fine with the other operations officers in her absence. If anything dire happens while she was gone then the other operations officers can page her on her comm. She arrived at the Cuyu family quarters and knocked on the door. “Good day Lieutenant it is Lieutenant Commander T’Prith I have come to check on Doria. May I have permission to come inside?” As she waited for the permission to enter the quarters she was worried about how things were going on the bridge. She had to trust that the other operations officers would take care of any problems that might happen when she was gone. She knew that she had to remain focused on the task that she had to accomplish.

Doria heard the knock and announcement and spoke up, "Computer, open front door." The door opened and Doria stood there with a wet dress and spoke up. "Greetings Mistress Lieutenant Commander T'Prith. This unit seems to be experiencing a coolant leak at it's lower chassis. Please proceed with caution to avoid any hazard from the coolant leak. This one will obey and follow any orders given." The small girl seemed human at a glance even down to her breathing. She had not yet met this person but was friendly albeit with a neutral expression on their face. "This one is remorseful for the hassle of this one's malfunction."

“Thank you for letting me come in the room I’m sure the Lieutenant won’t mind that I come and do a check up on you. There is no need to apologize Doria I’m sure that the coolant leak will get fixed I just need to get a closer look at the problem. Do you mind if I have a closer look?” T’Prith wanted to get Doria’s consent before she got to work. She wanted to apply the appropriate solution. The coolant leak didn’t seem to bother her one bit. The leak itself seemed to be concerning. She was going to have to let Lieutenant Reeza know what was going on. She tapped on her comm to get Reeza since she wasn’t going to leave Doria alone in this situation. The solution that she was looking for was something that may require medical for assistance. She didn’t think it was a bad thing to ask for help sometimes.

Doria held still as she saw the woman enter. She had yet to meet this woman but she bowed her head. "This unit is relieved you are here. This unit does not like damaging Mistress Cuyu's floor. This one has no understanding as coolant has never leaked from that area before." The girl looked human but it was made clear before she was an android. However her chest was moving with breaths, her body shivering, the coolant leak appeared like a child who wet themselves. "Please Lieutenant Commander do as You feel best, this one is fine with whatever needs to be done. This one has a weird sensation, normally this ones sensors would detect temperature but they seem offline. However this one feels... cold?" She started shivering and sneezed once. "This one is further malfunctioning?"

T’Prith didn’t want to waste any time with doing her inspection. The inspection was going to be thorough but not that quick in the timing. Her main goal was to get Doria repaired but from her initial glance Doria seemed to be behaving almost human like especially with the shivering. She did her diagnostic and it definitely looked like there was a malfunction. This was something that engineering had to take care of. She tapped her comm to get the attention of the chief engineering officer. “Commander Wren this is Lieutenant Commander T’Prith Crewman Doria has a lower chassis leak and the sensors are malfunctioning. I’ll do what I can for now but I may need your assistance.” Since engineering was busy she was going to save asking engineering for assistance as the last resort. She got to work working on the repair since it was important to get the sensors up and running so Doria doesn’t freeze.

"Lieutenant Commander T'Prith," Wren answered from Engineering, "I am aware of the situation via communication from the Bridge. We are very occupied with ship repairs so that we can exit this void of crazy-space. If you absolutely cannot wait to have the android looked at, you are going to have to bring it to Main Engineering. I cannot leave my station right now."

[BRIDGE]

While Rayek waited for an update from the Vulcan T'Prith, the Romulan paced the Bridge, his mind going over everything they knew about this 'bubble of warped reality'. The sensors were still showing huge changes happening throughout the ship. Rayek still believed that the things that were cropping up were an intentional inference not a natural phenomenon - but as yet he hadn't figured out how to stop it or confront the one behind it all.

Glancing over towards the empty science station, Rayek wondered what seeming ridiculous actions Hrafn might have suggested in this situation?

"Lieutenant Davies, let's try bursting this bubble. I'm going to lock phasers onto a single spot ahead where the boundary seems to be. At the same time I want you to ready two tractor beams directed on a spot 2 meters on either side of where the phasers are locked onto. One tractor beam will attract, the other will repel. The intent being to strain the boundary of this bubble enough so that it will collapse." Rayek explained.

"Understood sir", Brandy said. Her hands dancing across the console, she did what was needed. "Ready sir', she piped up.

As the tractor beams start their work, sensors would register a slight weakening of the bubble at those two spots. Perhaps if they keep it up, they might yet be out of the bubble.

The turbolift doors opened and the captain stepped out. "Report."

Rayek looked up from his console over towards the turbolift doors somewhat suspiciously, but eventually answered as he continued a sustained phaser blast towards the center point. "The ship is currently stuck in a 'bubble' of this chaotic-reality. We are attempting to break out of the 'bubble' by tearing at the fabric of its dimensional space, Captain." The Romulan glanced at the readings. "The bubble is weakening at those two spots. We need to continue this but on a larger scale. In addition, Engineering has experience some... technical difficulties and are endeavor to return power to the warp and impulse engines. Presently, we are maneuvering with thrusters only. "

"Commander, if I may? My late husband was an Engineer. What if we used a temporal shield along with that? If this continuum is indeed some kind of wormhole type anomaly, it may be penetrating the hulls with displacement," Reeza said. She was now seated next to Brandy, fighting the urge to spin around in the chair like a bored child might. She was just antsy to get out and check on the girls.

Rayek looked over toward Miss Reeza at her suggestion. That might possibly work. He turned towards the Captain. "I concur with Lt Cuyu. Her idea has merit. May we have orders to proceed?"

"Alright! Let's give it a shot! " The captain ordered.

Rayek nodded at the rather relaxed command but having obtained permission Rayek glanced up directing his next comment to Elle, the ship's AI computer. "Elle, please remote activate the shuttle's cloaking device." An illegal device to be certain, but useful in this situation. Chroniton radiation was a by-product on most stealth technology - at least if this one was based on Romulan design.

The ship's computer responded with audio only after a momentary lag. "Certainly Commander...Done - and thank you for saying 'please'."

"Ms. Cuyu, if you would please fine-tune the Bussard collectors for chroniton particles." Rayek ordered.

Reeza nodded. She had no idea what that meant, but she could read the database really quickly. She brought up the science console, and pressed some buttons.

A bit later, the scoops were open, and she looked to Rayek. "Commander, sir? The collectors are activated. What do I do when we're done...collecting particles?" She asked. She should have paid more attention in her science classes!!

Rayek then turned to the pilot Brandy. "Adjusts thrusters to reverse and maneuver the ship to so that the collectors follow the reverse track of the shuttle in our bay." He could have suggested someone attempt to fly the shuttle out ahead of them... but the logistics of sending anyone anywhere was a bit of a risk given the spatial fluidity of this dimension. Someone heading to the shuttlebay could end up with Ull in the Wild West. That was not a risk the Romulan was willing to take.

"Understood sir, adjusting now", Brandy said as she did what was asked of her.

The Romulan went on to explain to the Captain (and Ms. Cuyu) his thought-process. "To achieve temporal shielding we require to either know the temporal variance of this dimension, or chronitons in order create our own specific variance different from this dimension. I'm am attempting the latter. Once we have collected sufficient chronitons we will direct these throughout our shields and that along with our current attempts should break us free - in theory."

'Well here is hoping! Do we have an estimate for how long it will take to gather enough chronitons?" the Captain asked.

The Captain's question was one that he wished he had an answer for. "I'm not certain Captain... A few minutes I hope... but could be upwards of an hour since the cloak on the shuttle is rather small."

Reeza piped up. "Data is already coming back," she said, showing the screen in front of her. She didn't speak scientist, so she had little idea what it meant, but she trusted that someone else would. "Should I reroute it to the view screen?"

Rayek turned towards Reeza at her announcement. "Yes, please, do so." Then looked to viewscreen, reading the various information presented. While he did so, the Romulan stroked at his circle beard calculating numbers in his head. "Captain, at this rate we should have enough for an attempt in just over 15 minutes."

Risa leaned in to Wilson's ear, "I can hardly wait to see if it really works. I want to go home, " she said whispering.

"I don't know about home but I want out of here!" The captain replied.

A moment later, the data that Reeza had collected was viewable to the Bridge. "I am no scientist, but...it looks like maybe it's working, Commander. Captain, ma'am," Reeza said, highlighting a small part of the screen with a neon green circle.

"Correct, sir, right on target looking good 5 by 5", Brandy said.

[Captain, Rayek]
-----------------
[Main Engineering]

Qillin crawled out from under the control panel when he got the alert that there were new arrivals in the bay. At the moment, one of his greatest fears was aberrant crew coming through to pull more iso chips. He was almost relieved when he saw the Ops officer with a kid. But he was suspicious, too, since he wasn't sure that they weren't coming by to interfere with ship operations. "What's up?" he asked while he wiped his hands into a rag which hung on the waist band of his trousers.

Doria had obediently followed as she was led to engineering but was feeling more and more uncomfortable feeling. This was an entire new and unpleasant experience. She looked to the engineer and without batting an eye she said, 'This one is designated Doria. This one is experiencing a lower chassis coolant leak.

She then slipped down her leggings and raised her dress. "Can Master identify the source of the coolant leak?"

It took a moment for Qillin to realize what was happening before he reacted. "What in the name of Ardra ..." He pulled his rag from his waistband and scooted to cover the girl. But his rag wasn't large enough and he called for his sister. She was always close. "Tey? Can you get me a towel - or a blanket?"

Meanwhile, it didn't take him long to confirm that the girl was not an android, "She's breathing... this is a kid who wet her pants, not an artificial life form," he said with a scowl.

Tetayn was there next with a large towel that she wrapped around the child protectively. Qillin pulled out his tricorder. It wasn't the most reliable device at the time, given the circumstances of the insanity-space; however, it could confirm biological creature versus machine. There was a distinct lack of mechanical devices within the child. He held it up for T'Prith to see, "This is a kid that peed her pants. She needs to go to medical if she's hurt or to her quarters for a change of clothing if she's not hurt," he explained.

"This unit does not understand ', she said as she did not struggle as she was covered first by the man then the woman. "This unit is a Exo-III Android?" She shook her head, "This unit had assumed the form of a T'Kon? Please tell this one how to fix the lower chassis leak? It appeared to have stopped but... This unit is now experiencing a increased temperature spike in this units cranial region?" She placed a hand to her head and seemed wobbly. Her entire body was warm and clammy.

Suddenly, Elle appeared beside Doria and steadied her. "I heard everything. Wow. A real Pinocchio! You're so lucky!" The AI looked to the Chief Engineer. "I've lost contact with Sickbay... those miners keep tearing up my corridors and remaking them. So you'll have to deal with her fever until I can contact a doctor in Sickbay... oh wait... Reeza is a doctor of sorts! She's on the Bridge. I'll be right back!"

Qillin scowled at the vacant air where the holograph had been moments before. He wasn't sure if that was another apparition of the space anomaly. News of miners destroying the ship was alarming. He looked around, feeling helpless. Dealing with other people's illnesses was not one of his better abilities. Sure, he'd taken care of Katie, his ex-wife, when she was under the weather. But that was because she told him what she needed.

"You get back to work," Tetayn said, resting her hand on his shoulder. "I'll help here."

Qillin nodded his thanks while he realized there were flashing warnings all over the place that his newly repaired engines were active and not handling the move with grace. He swore under his breath as he ran off to tend to them.

"Okay, first, let's go over to the office." Tetayn guided the two visitors to a smaller room off of Engineering. There was a small couch against one of the walls. It was the only thing that was comfortable in the spartan room. "And let's get you out of your wet clothes," Tetayn added. She pointed to the couch, indicating that Doria should sit down over there while Tetayn located the first aid kit.

Finding replacement clothing would not be easy as the engineering replicators were all malfunctioning, but she found a thin insulating blanket with the first aid kit. "Okay," Tetayn returned to Doria's side and took the towel to style it into a toga with a clip and a bit of gauze tape which she made into a belt. "Lay down," Tetayn patted the couch while unwrapping the thin blanket. It looked like a flimsy sheet of aluminum material, but she knew it would be warm with the way it reflected heat back onto the child.

Doria held still as she was dressed before sitting down then laying out over the couch. She was tiny and shivering.

Tetayn looked in the first aid kit again and pulled the tricorder and confirmed the fever. "The best thing for a fever is rest and a little dose of a fever reducer," she explained while pulling the appropriate medicine from the kit.

"This unit begs forgiveness for the interruption. Exo-III Units are not constructed to replicate 'fever'. This one is unsure what is amiss.", Doria curled up under the thin blanket. Her eyes closed as she started shivering and curled up. "Why is the units self repair functions not working?" She seemed scared but she did not struggle. Instead she held still and waited hoping to be good. In the mean time she was sweating like she had ran a marathon while her breathing and heartbeat became elevated. "Why is this unit reacting poorly?" She looked up to Tetayn like a scared child, which now she was truly.

Tetayn shrugged, "Um, because you aren't an android right now?" The teenager took a step back indicated to T'Prith, "Maybe she can explain better?" Tetayn didn't actually think the Vulcan could do it. Inside, she was shaking and terrified of the alien that stood within an arm's reach. How she kept a calm exterior, she wasn't sure. But, she needed to step out of the room for a moment and making sending the conversation off onto the Vulcan was the only way she could manage. "I'll be right back..."

Tetayn took the soiled clothing out of the room with her and dropped them into a bucket near the unworking reclamator. She tried opening a comms channel to Medical next.

"This is Engineering... I need a doctor or a nurse - or someone with more than only first aid knowledge. I need them in the Engineering office right away." Tetayn requested.

[BRIDGE]

Elle appeared in front of the viewscreen that Rayek, Reeza and the others on the Bridge were watching. Elle didn't need the viewscreen to know at what level the bussard collectors were at.

"Captain, do you mind if I steal Counselor Reeza away for a bit ? Doria's running a bit of a fever and I'm not getting sensor reading from Sickbay or most of lower decks now." the AI explained as her holographic form walked around the console towards where Reeza was sitting.

"Lieutenant Cuyu is occupied at the moment" Rayek cut in. "This is not an appropriate time." He wanted to ask what Elle meant by running a fever but that too could wait until they were out of this reality warping dimension.

Unexpectedly, a call from Tetayn in Engineering came in requesting a doctor or a nurse. Rayek frowned. The situation must be rather serious to warrant the need of a doctor.

Reeza heard the overhead comms.

Elle rolled her eyes. "Really? I just left them! Seems her condition is rather urgent, Commander."

"Fine. Go. I'll take over Ops," the Romulan grumbled to Lieutenant Cuyu as he moved behind her to assume her spot at the Operations console. "Update me with her condition later."

"Yes, sir," Reeza said, looking helplessly around.

She turned to the hologram. "I am not a doctor, you know," she said to Elle, frowning.

Elle laughed at Reeza's remark. "Well, you'll do better than the Romulan - that's for sure. Let's go!"

Rayek hearing Elle's remark frown and glanced towards the AI. Had Elle always been this snarky?

"I'll be back as soon as possible, Commander, and will send you an update on Doria as soon as I can." She sighed. This really WASN'T a good time for the children to act up.

The hologram AI then gestured for Reeza to stop. "Stand very still while I get a transporter lock on you. I'm still getting accustomed to these new sensors. Ready? One... Two....Energizing."

Reeza did as the Elle asked. In a moment, her particles were being ripped apart and reorganized.

Seated at Ops, Rayek looked to the recently arrived Commander, "For this next part, I recommend we put the ship at yellow alert, it could get 'bumpy'." He would have done so earlier during their first attempt to free the ship but lacked the authority do so. He addressed his request to Risa in the hopes of helping her feel better and... because it was proper Chain of Command protocol.

"Initiate yellow alert. All hands be prepared for a little hiccup if it happens", Sandy said, looking at Linda. "Well here goes nothing" she added

Once given permission Rayek put the ship at Yellow Alert. Klaxon's sounded throughout the ship.

[Wild West Saloon]

Ull seemed to come to from a deep sleep. He didn't know how long he had been out, or even what day it was. He looked around and he was sitting at the bar of an old Wild West saloon. Next to him was Ensign Jun in a deputy's uniform. He did have a drink in his hand, which he could tell wasn't full, but he couldn't remember how he had gotten here, or even if he had been drinking. "Where am I?" He said to no-one in particular.

His question prompted the entire room of patrons to suddenly fall silent and turn to stare at him. The bearded barkeep wearing a pin striped shirt and black leather vest gave Ull a nod as he wiped down the wooden countertop of the bar. "Mornin' Sheriff. Didn't take ya fer a light-weight when it comes ta whiskey. Here let me get you a guaranteed hangover remedy." The bartender then proceeded to pour Ull another shot of whiskey.

Suddenly the sound of church bell began to ring from somewhere outside the bar. In that instant, the patrons and barkeep of the saloon suddenly were replaced by short, orange-skinned, green-haired, white-eyebrowed people in overalls with carpentry tools in their toolbelts. Without a word to Ull, they began to disassemble the bar. They moved quickly as if watched on a video-screen at fast-forward.

The tables and bar counter were removed, while the walls - board by board - came down until the room appeared to be a standard Starfleet Brig with empty holding cells. The table that Ull had woken at was now the security console that controlled the holding cells and the church bell ringing had transformed to a Yellow Alert klaxon.

Ull began to check the system and security status of the ship to see why they were at yellow alert. He reached up and tapped his comm badge. "Any station, this is Arkyn. What is the status of the ship?"

"Ull, Captain Wilson here. We will be making an attempt to break free of whatever this is. We're building chronitons to form a shield to break out of here. We estimate 15 minute until we are ready! We went to yellow alert to be safe! Might be a bumpy ride out of here."

"Ull copies." He made his way to the turbolift to try and get to the bridge to provide assistance.

[Engineering]

Reeza appeared in Engineering in due time.

"Commander Wren? Counselor Cuyu Reeza. What's the emergency? Why couldn't a medic come down?" She asked. She pulled her tricorder out of her pocket again, and looked around. She didn't see anyone fallen.

Elle appeared smiling proudly of her transporting accomplishment. "Ha! perfect transport.. even the famous Mr. Scott couldn't do better." She pointed Reeza towards the Chief Engineers office. "Doria's in there."

Doria put her hand to her head as she laid under the blanket and began to feel worse, the pain was not something she was accustom to. She had never had pain before. But her new humanoid nature took over and she started crying and sobbing from the office. Tears rolling down her cheeks as she hurt and looked up to Tetayn. "Where is Mommy?"

Reeza could hear Doria in the anteroom, and moved quickly. "I am here," she said, walking in. "Reeza is here. What on EARTH is going on?" she looked from Android to T'Prith. It took her a moment to realize that Doria had said "mommy", and she welled up in tears, but fought them back quickly. "How does she have a FEVER???" Someone better not be pranking her, because with the day they were having, there'd be hell to pay.

The ship's hologram watched on from the doorway, curious.

Tetayn stepped forward, pushing the ... doctor? towards the door to consult calmly and quietly. Though that seemed unlikely given the initial reaction. "I'm not sure that such volume and excitement is necessary. The girl is already agitated and upset. She needs a calm presence right now." Tetayn scolded. "Are you able to treat a fever? From what I can tell, the fever came on very fast. I was going to treat it with acetaminophen, but her rate of breathing and the shivering has me concerned that whatever illness has befallen her is far more serious than what I can handle. That's why I called for a doctor or a nurse..."

Hearing Reeza the formerly android now full T'Kon whimpered, "Mommy.. it hurts..." Doria showed more emotion in her voice then any other time while on board. "Please Mommy... this one doesn't know what is wrong..." She was crying heavily.'

Reeza gave a LOOK to the Engineer. "I have my own child, I think I can handle it. Acetaminophen would've worked. Thank you for your help," she said, moving to the couch. "The anomaly turned you human, it seems," she said. "Let's see. T'Prith, is there a replicator in here? If not, do you have any idea where I could get a wet towel?" She asked. "Elle, we'll need to beam to Medical," she said. "Or quarters. It'll be quieter and safer there." She looked at the ships' AI for guidance.

"Hey," Tetayn said with a degree of irritation that she tried her best to control. "Don't come waltzing in here acting like you know what's going on after seeing the kid for only three seconds and ignoring my concerns. Her fever is high and that degree of shivering is not normal. I may not be a doctor, but I've seen people die - and that is why I called for a fucking doctor. Your wet rag is there," Tetayn pointed to a small bowl by the side of the bed where she had been attending it prior to Reeza's arrival.

Reeza sighed. "Dr. Klarth is out for the count, and Dr. Harrison isn't a pediatrician," she said. "I have been raising a child for five years. I think I know what I am doing," Reeza said, her voice firmer and louder than usual. "As soon as this weirdness is over, we will report to medical," she said.

Elle had had observed the discussion between the teen and the older woman with interest as they sniped at one another over the former android’s care. When Reeza mentioned medication, Elle piped up. “Tetayn did administer an appropriate child’s dosage about 5 minutes ago.” Then when asked for beam over Medical the hologram shook its head. “Sorry, I still don’t have access to sensors in that part of the ship. So I can’t transport you there safely.”

"We will walk," Reeza replied. "Thank you, Elle. Thank you, Tetyan. Lt. T'Prith, do you mind coming along??"

Doria hearing this slowly rose from under the emergency blanket and on wobbly feet walked to her 'Mother'. She was still out of her outfit that was wet so she stood wearing a toga made from a towel with a clip, a length of first aid gauze for a belt. as she hugged to Reeza. "This unit is ready to go to Your quarters Momm.. I mean Mistress Reeza. This unit's scanners are offline?" She was hot and feverish to the touch unlike her normal temperature being cool.

Reeza smiled. "Let's go. We may have to walk," she said. "You can wear one of Cuyu Soja's dresses today," she said. "The replicators are still down so you'll need to wear...that..back home," Reeza said, bending down to pick up Doria. The two left Engineering and made their way to the Habitation deck where they lived. After a bit of time, Doria was cleaned, and dressed, and reassured that Reeza wasn't at all upset at the puddle on the floor. She called for maintenance to come up when they could, and once they made a plan for Reeza to be there at a time that Maintenance was available, Reeza put Doria down to rest with some juice and some coloring books.

She returned quickly to the Bridge, having already missed too much. Maybe her parents were right-raising a child and having a career weren't compatible.

------------------------------------------
[BRIDGE] (fifteen minutes later)

Rayek, still seated at the Ops console rather than his usual Tactical station (now manned by Lt Commander Arkyn), looked over towards the Commander, and the Captain.

"Chroniton levels are at appropriate levels across the ship's shielding. We're ready to trying breaking out again." the Romulan announced.

Looking at Linda, "Well time to try it again. Commander Rayek let's get going", Sandy said.

"Alright Commander. Let 'er rip!" Linda said. Hopefully this will get them out.

The Romulan frowned a bit at the colloquialism, which had his rather delicate maneuver being described much like a fart. He would never understand the overly relaxed nature of the Orion officer.

"Aye Captain!" Rayek called back. He then gave a nod towards Commander Arkyn. "Aim phasers dead ahead. Keep the stream steady"

Ull aimed the phasers dead ahead and set them to a steady stream. He monitored the power levels and heat for the phasers.

Once that was in effect, the Romulan then started the tractor beams. One pushing and one pulling - alternating on either side of the phaser beam.

"Tractor beams at 95%." Rayek called out. There was a slight pause. "The bubble is weakening, Captain. We may be able to push through with thrusters only, though impulse engines would be best." He had yet to hear any further word from Engineering as to the status of the engines, and honestly didn't feel it wise to wait longer - who knew when the next changes to the ship might happen.

The Romulan looked to Brandy at the Helm pointedly. "You're up. Take us forward. Thrusters at full throttle."

Reeza slipped quietly to the bridge and into the Medical console. She looked around. Things looked like they were in full swing to get them out of this terrible, horrible, no good alternate time line.

"Understood. Full thrusters ahead. Course holding steady, tractor emitters steady pulls and pushes. Phaser beam steady", Brandy said to Reyek.

They pushed forward. With a steady pace she reached the edge of the bubble. Courageously living up to her name she kept pushing and then it happened. They were back in normal space. "All station report." Linda said. Then she noticed the bridge. This was not the bridge of a chariot class ship. It looked more like the bridge of a galaxy class. "Elle, if you can respond, let me know how you are doing and what's going on? It looks like the ship changed."

Rayek felt a momentary disorientation as the ship 'burst' the bubble and his view blurred for a moment. He blinked to clear his vision and noted a huge difference in his Ops console. It was a completely different style. At the Captain's call for all stations to report, Rayek did a standard check of all Ops systems. "All power systems read at full readiness Captain, though they are not the same systems nor configuration we started with." But the Captain was already aware of this and had called on the ship's AI.

It took a moment for the holographic avatar to appear. When she did, Elle's appearance had changed. She appeared more mature - slightly taller, and more full figured but with the same face. "Captain, do you see what those Oompa Loompa's and that dimensional bubble have done to me? I'm huge! I'm a Galaxy class of all things!"

"Well I will say it looks good on you Elle! So we are a galaxy class right now. Ok, well that makes it interesting. Risa where are we?"

" Well near as I can tell, we should be close to the Bajoran homeworld, and the wormhole. If I am not mistaking, near DS 9 too. This is really crazy but I'm flying a Galaxy class. Feels very different," Brandy said looking at the changes

Reeza perked up a bit at the news that they were close to old Bajor. She kept her excitement to herself; they weren't out of the woods yet, clearly.

Rayek, seated now to the left of helm and hearing the flight officer's response, stretched and leaned over right to double check the navigation chart as to their location. Lt Davies was correct. It did seem they were near to the Bajoran system.. oh so close to his home. The question now was - What universe was this?

The Romulan began a detailed system scan. He hoped some key markers might indicate the current year and what dimensional universe this was. Whether it was Lionheart's dimension, his own, or the one they found Doria in - where Vulcan's were feared by the Federation.

While the scan was being run, Elle's holographic avatar - normally dressed in an ensign' uniform consisting of pants, shirt and jacket - now flickered and reformed. This time wearing an gold one-piece skant. The ship's AI gave an assessing twirl before nodding in satisfaction. She could get used to this new look.

Reeza cleared her throat. "Perhaps a pit-stop at DS9 to see if their engineers and scientists can make heads or tails of what's happening? If we radio ahead...and hopefully it's not Empok Nor," she said, shivering a bit at the thought. On the other hand, she could see her mother as a child. That would be fun. A mind trip, for sure, but fun.

"Captain Wilson, scans are confirming we are still in Doria's and Commander Wren's dimension. I would advise against any side trips to DS9 or anywhere else at least until after we reach Earth and meet with this universe's Federation."

Reeza nodded. It had just been a suggestion. "Whatever is best for all of us, of course," she said, dipping her head in reverence. She turned back to her console.

"Agreed Rayek. Risa, set course for earth, warp 7." The captain ordered.
